Happy March!

I’m so happy this week is almost over. I have a lot to do this weekend and I’m anxious to get to it.. Even if one of those things is a baby shower…. for twins. What can I say? I LOATHE showers of any sort. I don’t even want to go to my own when the time comes. Granted, it’s something you HAVE to do because God knows you can’t afford everything you need on your own (unless you marry rich) but they’re so boring! Baby stuff is better than wedding stuff though. I mean.. at least it’s cute.

Anyway, last night I went to see The Messengers with J. I admit, it wasn’t half as bad as I anticipated it was going to be. I jumped about three times. I probably would have jumped more, but I tried to subtly close my eyes when I knew the creepy ghost like things were coming on the screen. The ending was kind of anticlimactic, but it was an interesting story. I used my free pass so if I hated it, I could at least console myself by knowing I didn’t pay to see it. I’m always thinking. Also last night, I ordered my t-shirt from yesterday’s post. I hope it fits! I also hope I get my taxes tomorrow so I can pay for it.

This morning I had to drive down to Saugerties to notarize some documents. The Office Manager told me to write down an extra 45 minutes (they don’t pay you for driving to work, even if you had to go somewhere else for the firm) but I put it down as an hour. As someone who has to account for all their time there was no way I was going to be able to do it in 15 minute increments, or even remember I was doing so. Hell, what’s fifteen extra minutes? I’m sure they’ll live and I’m sure she won’t even notice. Anyway, it was nice to get to work a little later than normal. Makes me feel like I haven’t been here that long, even though my day started earlier than usual.

No new episode of The Office tonight, so I’ll give you a little something to hold you over. Speaking of Heroes (check the link, I promise we are), what a great episode it was on Monday night! Hiro’s Dad is part of the suspicious company, as is Eric Roberts. What a brilliant bit of casting! He just plays the villain like no one else. HRG was definitely softened by bringing up Claire, and isn’t necessarily the bad guy everyone thought he was. He’s basically been hiding the fact that she has abilities to save her life. Nice little twist that Claire is the one that picked out his glasses, too. I loved the scene where Claire came out of the house burnt to a crisp, then miraculously was fine the further she walked away. If Eric Roberts didn’t know she had powers before, that was certainly the kicker! HRG tells Eric Roberts (you can’t just say Eric.. he has to be Eric Roberts) that he’ll bring Claire in, but then makes it look like the Haitian kidnapped her from him, even allowing the Haitian to shoot him and erase his memory. I’m not sure how that will turn out, but I’m totally curious to find out. Next week we get to see Linderman, and I hope we delve even more into the role Hiro’s Dad has in the company. I have a feeling that if Hiro’s Dad really thought he had powers, he’d turn on him in a heartbeat. He doesn’t seem to be as caring or fatherly as HRG. Next week it looks like we’re back to a normal episode and we’ll see if it’s Parkman or the new girl that will be teaming up with HRG, and what his role will be in the company, if any.

I haven’t been watching Idol, mainly because I’ve heard it sucks this year. Well, at least the guys certainly do! When it gets down to the Top 12 I’ll considering tuning in again. At least there’ll be some semblance of talent… maybe! Anyway, there’s a new show on after it called “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” I took this test, and apparently I’m at a second grade level. Best of luck to you!

In final TV news, America’s Next Top Model began with a two hour spectacular last night. I admit I wasn’t home to watch it, but you can bet your sweet ass I’ll find some time over the weekend because I’ve heard the girls are cattier and nastier than ever. Also, there are two “full-figured” models in the house, which is nice. Usually it’s one girl and she gets booted kind of early. Remember, when I say full-figured, I mean a size 8 or 10, as opposed to a 2 or 4. Maybe with Tyra’s new found love of the flab these girls will finally get a real shot.

Almost time for lunch so I’ll try to get back to you later if anything substantial is going on. Looks like we’re getting some mixed precipitation up this way and the morning commute is going to be the opposite of fun, so be careful and don't slip on the ice! I only hope I can heed my own advice. I'm at J.'s tonight and the only way to get to where I need to go is down a relatively steep hill. Should be a good time had by all.
