I just re-read my blog post AFTER posting...

Apparently I'm all about the fun...
Couldn't have said it better myself..

Speaking of the Colts, I'm heading to Buffalo on Sunday to watch them play (and hopefully not repeat Sunday) against the Bills. Yep.. Buffalo in January. I'm obviously brain-dead. It's my first NFL game and I'm really looking forward to it, however the next time I go, it'll be a) earlier in the season or b) in Miami (or some other warm destination).

Starting the weekend off by heading to Syracuse on Saturday for the Syracuse-Pitt b-ball game. As far as college basketball goes, I've only ever been to a Siena game, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what it's like at a bigger venue. Granted, I'll be watching from the nosebleed seats, but I think it'll still be fun!

I've been reading all these "best of" lists and while I wish I could do one, I know I don't have the time, especially with my fun, sports (and more than likely snow) filled weekend! However, I do owe you some pics of the fun dinner at Mexican Radio Saturday night (mmmmm.. chimichanga) and what I hope will be a great time on New Year's as well.

Monday begins my fast till the cruise... I can guarantee there will be some snarky blog posts a coming. Apparently I get cranky when I don't eat and have to (ugh) exercise. Apparently fat doesn't just fall off your body cause you will it to. Who knew?

Happy New Year!!!! Be safe and have a great time!

Christmas was a HUGE success. Thankfully, my mother does NOT get the concept of stopping when it comes to shopping, so Tre and I did way better than any 33 year old should! We now have a vacuum cleaner that works, a hard wood floor cleaner, silverware, games and a Tony Little stepper that Mom saw on QVC. We also got two new Wii games (Super Mario Bros and Wii Sports Resort) which entertained the family for HOURS on end! Now just looking forward to dinner at Mexican Radio tomorrow night with some of my oldest and dearest friends!

Merry Christmas one and all!

Gotta give them credit.. they know how to elongate their 15 minutes of fame and not take themselves too seriously! Hysterical! As far as the show goes, I watched last week's episode last night. If I were those girls, I'd be only SLIGHTLY pissed that the guys basically talked smack about them the whole episode.. I think if I saw guys being followed around by a camera I would A) NOT go home with them; and
B) NOT sign a disclaimer.

My local newscaster mispronounced Corey Haim's last name this morning during the birthdays. She's not old enough or young enough to not know how to say Haim.. It's not that hard.

Yikes... not a Merry Christmas in the OC..

Seriously.. NO ONE on True Blood deserves love more than Lafayette!

Even I'm sad to see Melky leave the Yanks... even if it's just cause I liked the "got melky?" shirts! Not sure that was the best deal the Yanks could have gone with, but we'll see.. The O's signed a one year deal with infielder Garret Atkins, which isn't a bad thing considering our corners are light, if not nonexistent!

I watched Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas last night. It's my only Christmas tradition and it made me want to go outside and cut down a Christmas branch. So, Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!

Interesting.. I guess this helps answer my "natural causes" question from yesterday!
Am I the only one who has an issue with the fact that the runner up for AP Female Athlete of the Year is a horse? At first I thought I was reading it wrong, but I'm not.

Monday, December 21, 2009

Ok, I hate to be the speculative sort, but it's REALLY strange for a 32 year old to drop dead of a heart attack and have it be "natural causes." If I remember correctly, Michael Jackson died of natural causes too... until the autopsy results came back!

Regardless, it's a tragedy and I feel awful for all Brittany Murphy's friends and family. While I found her to be slightly loopy, I really enjoyed lots of her movie roles and it's terrible that her career and life have been cut short in such a.. dramatic fashion! Perhaps I shall have a Clueless-Girl Interrupted film fest in her honor... after I watch Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas. Priorities...

I'm having a hard time believing this one... It might be because I adore him as a choreographer, or it might be just because the whole situation sounds slightly shady. I mean, if someone molests you, you don't wait to tell on the off chance they might hit it big some day. I hope this turns out not to be true!!

Carrie Underwood got engaged to her hockey player boyfriend over the weekend.. Yay love.

Hopefully this is just the start of something good....

I wish this gave me no reason to continue watching Jersey Shore, but sadly, I'll still tune in. Damn you MTV and damn you Jersey!!!

Can anyone say (in six months or so, for legal reasons) fantasy threesome? ;)

This is totally something I would do... I told Tre, next year's Christmas card is all about chest bumps and ugly Christmas sweaters...

I don't know if anyone has checked out UPromise.com, but if you do a lot of online shopping, sign up and do it from here. You can get yourself a check at the end of each quarter, or put that money towards a student loan. There are some good percentages to be made off it and anything that will help me to pay off my loan before I collect Social Security can't be a bad thing!

1 - I don't get it. 2 - Love is blind. 3 - Talent is sexy. That's all I've got to explain this.

In other couples news, the ink on the paper announcing their separation is hardly dry, but Dawson's found himself a lady friend.... .

Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett (Go Colts!) welcomed their first child, a boy, this morning in Indianapolis. All the girls next door and Hef are ecstatic...

Glee's fall finale was Wednesday night and what a great one it was! Lots of amazing music and the outcomes you were looking for.. unfortunately, we have to wait until APRIL for new episodes! However, if the guest stars go in this direction, it'll be worth the wait.

Wednesday night was a great night for reality TV, but I can't say I was happy with all the outcomes. SPOILER ALERT: The Voltaggio brothers and Kevin were put to the test in the finale of Top Chef and basically, Michael Voltaggio (the douche of the bro's) took the crown as he screwed up less than the other two. At least they did keep it in the family and since he doesn't already own a restaurant, I guess he can put the money to good use.

Ashleigh was unable to dance at all this week on SYTYCD, but instead of ousting her straight away, the audience was allowed to vote for her. The sympathy vote and Ryan's impassioned plea to keep her on the show didn't even put her in the bottom two, which I thought was kind of unfair. Mollee and Ellenore were in the bottom, and Mollee was let go, which was surely unfortunate and kind of a shock for her, as she had, BY FAR, her best week on the show. It's amazing what a partner like Jakob will do for you. I will seriously be shocked if he doesn't win the entire thing, but stranger things have happened. As for the guys, the bottom two were Ryan and Legacy, and while I was sure Legacy was safe, I was once again proven wrong as our favorite b-boy shuffled back home, leaving Ryan and Ashleigh to finally dance together in the finale. I have to say I was disappointed.. While I like them both, I would have been OK with them going home together. I'm saddened America... you let pity and sympathy cloud your vote! And again, I'm still on Team Jakob.. hee hee..

With all the zombie and supernatural fuss lately, I had wondered if Pride & Prejudice & Zombies would be made into a movie. Enter, Natalie Portman.

Toine is either a closet reality show fan, or he just knows what I like and wants to please me :) Regardless, he's the one that sent me this link today...

I have yet to watch last night's episode of Jersey Shore, but at least here's one mystery that's solved. Don't get me wrong, I find the girl to be annoying, but I still don't think she should get punched in the face by any guy... unless he's her plastic surgeon....

What's so wrong with originals?!

Anyway, that's all I've got.. Happy Friday.. Happy Weekend!!!

Not the most flattering shot, but that's what happens when you sit on someone's lap. Here was just a portion of the group at Fish's Winter Walk party.. Me, Jen and Joey taking some of Jen's famous long arm shots in the kitchen..
The softball girls at the Winter Walk party

Me, Tre and Jen at Melino's the night before Thanksgiving..
I'm sure more pictures will be coming, as there are more parties, more holidays AND C. Howe is gracing us with his presence ;).
I didn't purposefully watch Jersey Shore (and from the looks of the internet, a lot of people didn't do it on purpose) but I was completely sucked in. I couldn't help it! This is the biggest, sluttiest, scariest bunch of people I've ever seen and if I was in a room with any of them I'd probably want to rip out my eyes and ears... but since I'm not, it's KIND of entertaining. I can't stop watching now, as the previews show one girl (who is hopefully "Snooki" who is an annoying mess) getting cold cocked off a bar stool by some "guido." I mean.. she's annoying but not enough to seriously knock the bitch out.. ok.. well maybe.. but by a girl.. NOT by a big muscular douche! i'm insisting it's not event TV, but if this weekend is any indication, MTV will play it enough to be sure I tune in. I mean, who doesn't love a trainwreck o'skanks?!

I know I haven't posted much, but I seriously have nothing.. I've been so busy with other things that my blog has taken a hit.. I even went to the gym today and thankfully, it didn't fall down all around me, so that's a plus.
Soccer has been pretty good.. I don't think we've gotten a raging ass whooping as of late, which is pretty good considering we're out of practice! Last week we played another WHINY team... I got a ridiculously large and dark bruise on my hip from some vengeful skinny lesbian but I didn't complain.. Soccer is a contact sport.. play tennis if you don't want anyone to touch you!
Tomorrow night is another night and I can't wait. It'll be tough cause we won't have a whole lot of subs, but at least no one will bitch about playing time (not that anyone does, but you get my drift).
Snow's supposed to be coming in tomorrow, and I'm thinking about waiting it out before I head to work. My soccer game isn't until 9:30 so I could technically work my whole shift and not go in until 12 or 1. It might be a little creepy being in the office by myself but I bet I'll get a lot done. We'll see what Mother Nature (and my bald tires) have to say about that..
As I'd hoped, my faves didn't get kicked off SYTYCD last week, but Nathan and Noelle did. I was ok with them going. I liked them, but they weren't the tops on my list. The show has been ridiculous this season as far as memorable performances. I'm still drooling over the Sonya Tayeh routine Ellenore and Jacob did last week.. It's going to be extremely hard to let people go before the finals as everyone has been stepping it up something ridiculous! I really wish this show had been around when I was in my "formative dancing years." With the training I had I doubt I'd have made it on the show, but it probably would have motivated me to get more diverse training (and an eating disorder).
Baseball's winter meetings are happening as we speak, so we'll have to wait and see what, if any, progress the O's make towards improving upon last season.

As you can see, I'm now reading Price & Prejudice & Zombies. I've taken A LOT of English classes in my time, including British Lit, but I don't recall ever reading the original. I mean, I'm a girl... I know the gist of the story, but this book has been pretty entertaining in all honesty! What can I say? I love trainwrecks o'skanks AND zombies!
Be careful on the roads if you're getting bad weather and enjoy your hump day!!!

My man situation has been completely lackluster lately, so I took a turn in the right direction and deleted what I like to call "toxic" men from my phone. There were more than I had anticipated.. One of whom was J. Apparently I had neglected to delete him from my phone a while back and his numbers just transferred over. Yeah, that was definitely one of the ones that needed to go, as were the "guy who travels a lot" and "drunk text guy." I figure if I don't know their numbers by heart, they aren't important enough to be in my phone. I'm turning over a new leaf (hopefully!). I mean.. I'm 33 for Christ's sake. I just don't have the time, energy or inclination to waste my time on anything but bad reality tv.

There's this woman I work with who is just... well.. she probably falls under the toxic category as well. Anyway, she seems to be the only person who comes and goes as she pleases without any regard for time constraints and acts as if she is uber-important (she's not). Anyway, she sent out an email asking for help because she had today off and in the email she points out that she really doesn't want to have to come in because her husband is in the military and is leaving for combat very soon. It's pretty bad when you play the "war" card and still no one will answer you or wants to help you. That should be a reality check, huh? I really did feel bad about not caring, but then I kinda got over it. I know.. I'm terrible. My New Year's Resolution should be to try to be less terrible, but I'm probably just going to do the "I'll work out more" line of bullshit I usually do. Priorities.

TGIF bitches... Winter Walk is tomorrow so I hope to have a few pics to post for you! Have a great (and quite possibly snowy) one!

Don't you think it'd be wrong for the 2009 Chatham Fair Bull-Off (self proclaimed) Champion to NOT go to such a stellar event!? I think myself and the runner-up will have to make an appearance and see what we've gotten ourselves into!

You think I'm kidding? I'm not...
What do you think Alex P. Keaton (circa 1985) would have to say about this?

I've never been to either, but I'm thinking rehab is better than jail! In other BB news, I've never watched this show, but since Sunday night tv blows, I might have to make an exception this season..

Is it wrong that this article (and Jonathan Antin) have the ability to make me sublimely happy?

For God's sake.. just leave Tiger alone.. (That doesn't mean i'm not COMPLETELY intrigued by the fact that I'm sure his wife gave him a beat down...). I mean, if he's dumb enough to be so high profile and think he can get away with cheating, then so be it.. It'll all come out eventually. If only patience was a virtue I possessed.

SYTYCD is down to the Top 10 and I have to say, it's been a STELLAR season.. I have no idea who'll go home tonight and whoever it is, probably won't be the most deserving as it's all viewer votes now. If it's Jakob or Ellenore you'll hear me screaming from miles away, that's all I have to say about that!

I don't even want to talk about the White House party crashers, simply because I think a mountain is being made out of a molehill. Stop blaming the fame whores and fire some Secret Service for not doing their job! Or fire the idiot who decided it was smart to let them in!

Is this all you want for Christmas?

This is one of those "so unbelievable I couldn't make it up" kind of articles.

Sorry for the lack of posting.. been real busy and I do intend to catch you up, but now is not the time! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!

I saw New Moon on Saturday night and was NOT disappointed. I really enjoyed it, even with the random cheesy bits interspersed throughout! I very much enjoyed the Jacob-centric film, especially since he barely wore clothes through most of it. Yes, I KNOW he's only 17 and I feel dirty about it, but it doesn't take away from the fact that he is a sexy son of a bitch that I wouldn't kick him out of my cougar type bed for eating crackers. Now only 7 months to go until Eclipse opens!

Happy First Birthday goes out to Toine and Kelly's daughter, Taylor Gracie Esposito! I saw a pic of Sweet T with her cake and I have no doubt that she went to town! Tonight I'm catching up on NCIS with a mini-marathon, and imagine my surprise when "Pizza Girl" from October Road turned out to be some sort of rogue assasin. Guess typecasting had nothing to do with this one!

I am sure this means NOTHING to most of the readers of my blog (the three of you there are, give or take) but I bowled 694 the other night. I was REAL thrilled about it and I had no one to celebrate with, as the majority of my drinking buddies were at a phys. ed. conference at Turning Stone. Bummer! Instead I went grocery shopping, where I ended up behind a woman with food stamp issues. I am almost positive I was in line behind her for at least a half hour, which was about double the time it took me to get through the store and get all my groceries. The perfect end to a Friday night? I think not!

My sister has put up all our Christmas decorations and bought a new tree. While she did that, I went to MJ's for beer and football. I am far from a scrooge, but my sister is so Christmas obsessed and has a "method" for where things should go, so it's easier to get out of the way instead of trying to help. "I do it wrong" is what she says. I'm so scarred for life.

I live to serve you Christopher Thomas

At least sometimes, that's what it feels like ;)

I was (and still would be) an avid fan of Remote Control, the game show on MTV that helped launch the careers of Colin Quinn, Adam Sandler and my favorite unreasonably dirty fantasy, Denis Leary, so you can imagine my surprise to learn its host, Ken Ober, died over the weekend. No real details have been released as of yet.

Can I mention that I'm so appalled by the fact that when I type in "ken" on yahoo to search, the first thing that comes up is Ken Jennings, the most annoying Jeopardy contestant ever..

My boyfriend Taylor Lautner was on Jay Leno last night, and since we all know how much I loathe Jay Leno and blame him for my screwed up TV watching phase this Fall, you know it pained me to watch. However, for Team Jacob, I'll do it! My sister was like "he's 18, right?" No.. no he's not, so at least now I have someone to revel in my dirty Mrs. Robinson ways with me. Thanks Tre!

I don't care WHO screwed it up, it worked out for me! I guess I have to keep wearing my jersey so Peyton and the boys can keep the streak alive!!!

I think my second passion party is gonna cancel this weekend, which sucks. After layoffs and pay cuts, I could have used the extra loot! Apparently no one is in the sex toy buying mindset, what with the holidays coming around. I just don't get it! Perhaps I should have thought of something that would have been a little more.... appealing to the masses..

Neil Patrick Harris is now on Twitter. Follow him.

This is the best I got at the moment.. Been real busy and have some things rolling around in my head! I'll try to be good, I promise!

I was thrown for a loop when I saw this headline....

For some reason, my sister can't stop talking about this trailer.. I don't remember seeing the first one, so I'm not quite as excited..

I am officially a loser.. I bawled my BRAINS out watching the Khloe Kardashian-Lamar Odom wedding on E! Damn you Bruce Jenner! I've had quite a few friends announce separations lately so I'm not exactly sold on the sanctity of marriage.. I'm not saying Khloe and Lamar have done it for me with their whirlwind courtship, but a girl can still dream of it.. and a Vera Wang dress..

Happy Hump Day!

We might not be the best, but we've got potential!!!
If you are a straight woman or gay man and DON'T watch Glee, then let me show you what you're missing...

This is the first week where the audience can vote for the eventual So You Think You Can Dance winner, which simply means there's another show I need to tape. Also, I was kind of surprised to hear this news, mainly because I was certain he was gay. I know.. male dancer. can't be straight.. I get it.. it's a stereotype. Regardless, they're kind of cute together and even in the audience of the show tonight with the rest of the cast of the tour that did NOT come anywhere near here (nope.. not bitter at all)..

Great TV news - Kathy Griffin's My Life on the D-List will be back with 10 new episodes in 2010!! Now if only she'd come around this area again so I can get my laugh on! I really wanted to go see Jim Breuer on December 4th, but my cousin Laura has a dance performance at school that I'm really looking forward to. If you have Sirius/XM and don't listen to Jim Breuer's show on Friday afternoons, you don't know what you're missing (apparently it's a trend on the blog today... deal with it). Speaking of Kathy, she'll be making a guest spot on one of my favorite shows in 2010!

Apparently if it doesn't have to do with dancing in some way, I don't want to talk about it on the blog today! I guess not every "fairy-tale relationship" is as fairy-tale as we're led to believe. How am I supposed to have faith in the santity of relationships and marriage if no one can keep it together anymore?

I have GOT to get my ass to Vegas ASAP!!!

See what I mean about love? I mean.. if THESE crazy kids can't make it work, who can? I was on Team Flex from the get-go so all I can do is hope for a brand new show to give that guy his due. Come on VH1! Give me what I want!!!

It gets a little scary when things like this hit close to home, don't you think?

I haven't ran in two months.. I made it a half-mile at a time.. I guess it was better than nothing. I weighed myself this morning, hence the athletic reality check. SOMEONE needs to get back on track..

I am one of those unlucky bastards who has to work tomorrow, but at least it's a bonus casual day. That ALMOST makes it worth it (or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself to make me feel better about it). Happy Veteran's Day to all and Happy Birthday Joey!!!
If anyone wants to know what to get me for Christmas, click here.

Money works too though.. Found out last week that the whole firm is taking pay cuts (I say taking like I had a choice), so in order to keep my job, I get to do it for less money, effective immediately. Can't say that I was thrilled with that news. Yes, I'm ecstatic to still have a job, but I'd be even more ecstatic to still have my job and my paycheck. Wouldn't you?

I'm not actively searching for a job by any means.. I like where I am, but you have to keep your eyes out so you're not completely blindsided, am I right? I seriously can't do the unemployment thing again. Although if I had to, I'd have PLENTY of time to watch the complete series of Dawson's Creek.. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place ;).

Monday, November 09, 2009

In honor of the start of our indoor soccer season last week (and my being tripped from behind and suffering from some nasty turf burn) I wanted to post this video as what NOT to do... I taped The Today Show this morning just so I can see how this girl could possibly justify her actions. I mean.. there's playing a little dirty and then there's everything this girl did, which she'll have plenty of time to think about while she's suspended!

Thursday, November 05, 2009

We all know what a sap I am (so much so that I REALLY wish TV would stop playing the trailer for The Blind Side, cause it makes me cry EVERY time), but stuff like this really gets me. I'm far from a Yankee fan but who knew they had families and feelings? ;) My sister is going to the ticker tape parade tomorrow.. Someday, I swear, I'll go to a ticker tape parade.. I just hope I won't have to do it in my walker... or with a colostomy bag. There's always next season O's!!!

Halloween Party at MJ's Pictures

OK.. technically they're not AT MJ's, cause I took too many pictures beforehand, so my internal memory was full before we went out, but hopefully you'll get the drift.
These are the spider cupcakes I made for work. They were a big hit.. I don't know if I won the contest though, as laying people off became a higher priority. Apparently, I've made it through.. so far. Keep your fingers crossed.. Cute little spiders though, aren't they? They took FOREVER to make!

The gals at Nikki's house before our transformations.

Tre's roller derby girl - The Notorious V.A.G. (who apparently IS a real roller derby chick! Tre loves Biggie so the name could not have been more appropriate for her). She even stayed on her feet way longer than we had expected!

This is the hickey Shannon gave me.... with makeup.. but it looks amazingly real. So much so, that it fooled pretty much everyone!

Nikki in her go-go boots... cause she needed to be a head taller than me! I went as the "walk of shame." I hadn't gotten my bed head yet, but the hickey and smudgey makeup did the trick.

Pictures from Eryn and Willy's Wedding

It poured the entire day, although I've heard that's good luck! Therefore, galoshes were a necessity under the wedding dress. The rugby gals of CSC... and our favorite groupie (Erica, Amy, Me, Eryn and Jess)

Bride and Groom during their final dance
Jess, Amy, Eryn, BJ and me at the reception.. We might have played rugby, but we could always clean up real nice..
Me, Eryn and Amy after hours at Seven Barrel Brewery

The wedding was an absolute blast! Eryn and Willy threw a great party and it was great to see my girls! Who's next?

Friday, October 30, 2009

So, one of my co-workers read my tarot cards today and had me pick out my "crystal of the day." Here are the results:

Rhodonite is an emotional balancer especially love emotions. It is an emotional healing stone. Rhodonite clears out emotional wounds from the past. It also clears away festering resentment and anger and helps find forgiveness. It builds up confidence and love. A rhodonite necklace is good to wear in times of stress. Most of all rhodonite is a healing love stone. It is a good stone to use in rituals where a stressful relationship needs to be healed.

Six of Swords
A boat of swords being ferried across a river with a woman as passenger. The classic Rider-Waite meaning is that one is leaving difficulties behind. A trip or change of scene may be the answer to restoring balance here. But there is more to it than this. In relation to the mind, ideas and words of the sword suit, this is also about finding a solution to math problems and brain twisters, not just troubles. The ferryman may signal help here, a silent partner (a reference book or internet website perhaps?) who helps you row your way toward the other shore...and THERE is the answer, a way to make your idea, your argument, your formula work smoothly, perfectly, beautifully. Also, of course, a card about trips by boat.

Knight of Wands
I like to think of this teen as the "tilting at windmills" Knight. Charismatic, the kind of youth who never slows down, who always goes for grand gestures. This is the party "teen", and we're talking big, wild parties; the kind of youth who loves his car and seems to live in it, driving everywhere, picking up his friends as he goes. He's popular, the center of attention, the leader who comes up with crazy ideas. He'll be voted class president or Prom King, and is likely an aggressive player on the football team. On the negative side, this teen can be headstrong, bossy or a bully. A little narcissistic, he's not always sensitive to others feelings. Don't expect him to be reliable or on time. Fiercely loyal to his friends, and his religion whether that is sports, a philosophy or church.

Page of Wands
A message, possibly from far away, about a trip, career move, leadership position or something spiritual/philosophical.

So.. basically what she said is that if I'm waiting for news, I'll be getting it.. I can't think of anything in particular, but you never know! lol.. When I got the six of swords card she was like "are you trying to get away from something... some sort of relationship... get some closure?" I just started laughing.. She said "move on!!!" Then I picked my stone and it went perfectly :)
I'm gonna go with it.. sounds like a good reading to me! Bring on the Halloween parties!!!!

Pictures of the wedding and Halloween are forthcoming, I promise! Happy Friday!!!

I am highly confident that in a previous life, I assassinated Cupid's family. There can be no other explanation for the clusterfuck that is called my love life.

Found out from a mutal friend last night that a guy I dated a few years ago (thankfully, I use the term date loosely, but we did hang out for a few months back in the day) was arrested on kiddie porn charges. I can safely say, I didn't see that one coming.

Also, Jason was supposed to come to my friend Eryn's wedding with me this weekend as my date. Last week he decided he had "given up on me," so I decided to hit the wedding stag. Apparently he didn't get the memo, and texted the bride (who he's met once) to find out if he was still going as my date. Um.. didn't think to ask me, huh? Anyway, that led to some angry texts as I felt he crossed the line by texting her (what moron texts a bride with something trivial the week of her wedding?) and he vehemently disagreed. He then decided that I should go fuck myself and stay the fuck out of his life... also, that he doesn't know who I think I am and that he was "glad he went over the line because now he doesn't have to deal with my shit anymore." I'd post the entire transcript, but that's probably crossing the line... Essentially, I'm the devil, which only made me angry because I was really calm (when I wasn't laughing at the texts coming through) and wasn't even mean enough to deserve to be treated as such. Even my friend Nikki (who thinks I have horns that pop out of my head) thought he was a touch on the crazy side with his texts. And perhaps I've realized, evidenced by the fact that I DID laugh throughout this entire childish exchange, that I'm way too good for him and even though I'm 33 and single, I'm not going to settle. Although at this point, it's probably not a bad idea.. God knows what else could get thrown at me at this point! lol..

If anyone knows of a way to cleanse your love aura, let me know. It seems mine might need a good old-fashioned scrub down!

That whole "not dating a guy whose name starts with J" thing might not be a bad idea..

In nice news, J's brother messaged me on facebook last week, basically apologizing for J's wrongs.. it was really late, but really nice to hear, as I could have only imagined what stories he was concocting about our break up. Obviously you've been a douche if even your family is on the other person's side!

So basically, back to the drawing board. I've had a few people tell me that I should write a book and they're probably right, cause I seriously could NOT make this shit up. Maybe I'll call it "Douchebags not to Date," or "Just Because He IS Into You, Doesn't Mean You Have to be Into Him!"

At least I'm learning my lesson.. last night this cute guy sat down next to me and started chatting. Come to find out he has a 9 year old son and loves the outdoors.. He asked me what I do for fun and I pretty much said "I stay indoors." I know what won't work for me, and hunting, fishing and camping are not those things.. Baby steps my friends.. baby steps..

So You Think You Can Dance has dwindled down to it's Top 20 (of which my love, Ryan Kasprzak didn't even make it through, as he did last year.. disappointment!), and Mia Michaels hair has dwindled down to my grandpa's crew cut. I have to say, my grandpa rocked it way better than she did. Regardless, she has announced that she is leaving the show that has made her a household name outside the world of choreography. I'll be sad to see her go, in all honesty. She has made some amazing dances in the past five seasons and some of the shit that comes out of her mouth, while batshit crazy, is priceless! But hey.. we still have Tyce!!!!

Garth Brooks has once again announced his unretirement, and will do so by headlining in Vegas. Note to future boyfriends - take me to Vegas to see Bette Midler AND Garth Brooks and I'll be yours forever... and I may never leave Vegas :)

After Kanye-Gate, Taylor Swift will be hosting SNL, as well as being the musical guest for the evening. I think she'll be able to pull it off and that'll be one SNL episode I'll definitely DVR (cause it's rare that if I'm home to watch, I'm awake to do so).

New Olympic Sports were named last week, rugby being one of them! It sucks that softball is gone, but I'm excited to see rugby on such a large scale.

A movie I'm already looking forward to is Burlesque, which will star Kristen Bell, Christina Aguilera, Cher and Julianne Hough. I believe Christina plays the talented diva, so at least her acting debut might be a little easier than she had anticipated! Can you go wrong with Cher in a movie named Burlesque? If only Bob Mackie were doing the costumes...

Oh Kara, what a segueway!! Bob Mackie was a special guest on Project Runway last week, asking the designers to make a performance dress for Christina Aguilera. I was pretty disappointed with the results. I mean.. no one went SEVERELY over the top, and Shirin's lack of confidence and vision led to her demise. Nina Garcia FINALLY made it back for judging, and next week she'll be joined by Michael Kors, so the real judges will bring some order back to the judging. Not that it's been bad, but I think there have been some interesting eliminations since they've been gone.

Since Maura Tierney has announced that she's leaving Parenthood to concentrate on her recovery, Lauren Graham (of Gilmore Girls fame) will replace her. I think it's a good combination. Both are great actresses who can pull off funny and drama. Parenthood has always been one of my favorite movies, so I'm curious to see how similar to the movie they stay.

Did we really need a Saw VI (or 2 - 6 for that matter)?

Seems everyone's favorite crime lab worker, Abby Sciuto, will be making an appearance on the spinoff, NCIS: LA in the very near future. She appeared by phone last night, but will travel across the country to lend a hand.

When are men and women gonna learn not to shit where they eat? Especially with crazy people half their age? Not long ago I read a book about the beginning days of ESPN, and the sexual harassment was rampant. Somehow, I'm not surprised! Anyway, Phillips got a one week suspension, but we'll see if this is the only hand slapping ESPN will do. They ARE owned by Disney now (right?), so this doesn't look so good for the network. Remember what happened to Harold Reynolds?

Big plans for the rest of the week, so who knows when I'll blog again. I have a jewelry party to go to tomorrow night, and I have to get a mani/pedi on Friday night. Ok.. I don't HAVE to, but I really want to, as I have my friend Eryn's wedding in NH on Saturday. I'm going by myself, which I'm not happy about, but the date(s) didn't exactly work out so I'm going solo. I believe there is LITERALLY one single guy that will be there. Good god, I hope she doesn't throw the bouquet.. I'll die of mortification..

Therefore, enjoy the rest of your week and have a great weekend!!! And try to think of a cheap, easy Halloween costume I can pull together from stuff at home.. that would be great, thanks.

PS - If you're not watching Glee, you're an idiot.. just saying...

I went to see Zombieland by myself tonight (c. Howe.. please come home soon.. FOR GOOD) and I enjoyed it. It wasn't a cinematic masterpiece, but it made me laugh. You have got to love Woody Harrelson.. he has his over the top moments but he knows how to use them.

Earlier today I gave you some bad Big Brother news... but here's something a little more.. heartwarming! I admit it, I'm rooting for these two to work out and if they don't.. Hey Jeff.. I'm available ;)

I told you the other day that Bethenny Frankel was engaged, but now it's been confirmed that she's preggers as well. Seems some online buzz from PerezHilton.com forced her to let the cat out of the bag... really early, as she's only two months along. There is no such thing as privacy in the reality TV world..

I didn't think Glee could get any better, but now Joss Whedon will be directing an episode. Remember, this is the man behind one of the greatest musical episodes TV has ever seen (Buffy's "Once More With Feeling"), so it can't be a bad thing!!!

In a not-so-shocker, Top Chef has been renewed for another season. To continue with my love of Bravo, there will be a new installment of the Jersey Housewives in 2010, and the debut of the DC Housewives. I'm counting down the weeks (2 I believe) until the latest OC season starts!

Tre and I decided that we HAVE to get up early and do Insanity or it won't happen. I hate doing it, but I have to admit it's nice to not have anything to do after work. It'll come in real handy when soccer starts up again in two weeks as well.. Although I think Thursday mornings will come REALLY early after a late night soccer game. I can't wait to start it up again.. I miss the workout and I miss the way to work out my aggression.. I know it's a Mom's league and all, but they don't play like your sterotypical soccer mom! Although I have to say, I'm really glad I wasn't at Afrim's for this incident... Thankfully, it looks like everything will be ok eventually!

This is all I could remember from my post-it note.. I know I've been a slacker as of late, but I'm doing the best I can!!! Get ready for hump day :)
If you're planning on using your prize money for not so legal things, best thing to do is not get caught. I TOTALLY didn't see this one coming!!!

Today as I was walking (oh nay nay... STRUTTING) to the bathroom at work, I realized that I have missed my true calling as a contestant on America's Next Top Model. Granted, I am ridiculously short with stumpy legs and double the size of every girl on there, but I'm pretty sure those bitches can't make it look like they have wind in their hair like I can... and I'm not even on a runway.... And if I tried real hard, I could probably smize like Tyra... Just saying..

Sunday, October 18, 2009

This weekend has certainly had its ups and downs for reality stars!!!

One got engaged... (which is great and all, but God, please don't make me wait till I'm 38 to get engaged.. I can't be this single for five more years.. seriously)

One got a DWI....

One's house got broken into, and

One's still a douche :).

Another day, another death of a pop culture icon!! Say it ain't so and wear rubber bands in all your body hair... ok.. maybe not ALL your body hair...

Monday, October 05, 2009

I was invited to a party on Saturday night, as my friend Paula's date (her husband couldn't go, so he let me use his ticket). $20, all the beer, wine and soda you can drink, a meal and dancing till midnight. I was excited about it, thought it'd be a great time. Until I got there and realized that it was a hoe-down. I'm not kidding.. An honest to goodness hoe-down.. a country band, lots of wranglers and boots. I like country music, don't get me wrong. I think I knew the majority of the songs the band played, but it wasn't the type of music you can jam to. Thankfully, when we left, Paula jacked up the Jay-Z and things were back to normal. I still had a good time, but it was far from what I expected!

I have FINALLY booked a few Passion Parties.. I'm really excited, as I need to have three parties worth $1,000 total before the end of November. I will more than likely cut it close, but I'm giving it the best shot I have! I have two booked and left a few messages, so hopefully they'll become lucrative. I also ordered business cards and our new catalogs, so I had an extremely busy, yet productive Passion Parties day!!

I finished "Official Book Club Selection" by Kathy Griffin. Even if you don't find her funny, it's a great book. She was extremely honest about her life, including her plastic surgeries and divorce shocker. I dare you not to get weepy when reading about her dad and her relationship with her parents. It was an easy, fun read!

Have I missed the announcement of Mariah Carey's pregnancy? I saw it on the cover of one of those US Weekly, Life & Style, blah blah blah magazines, but considering I hadn't heard of it till then, I wasn't quite sure if it was official or true. I mean, you'd think that'd be news I would have heard!! Speaking of pregnant, Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi has announced her pregnancy, which is a surprise, not only because she suffers from endometriosis, but also because she hasn't publicly been dating anyone since her split from Salman Rushdie. The only person accused of being the father turned out to be related to her. How awkward...

Rumors around town are that Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are engaged. They could both do worse, that's for sure..

As ashamed as I may be, I still have set a series recording for the Real World/Road Rules Challenge that started airing on Wednesday. I'm shocked Diem got booted by Tonya (the Mayor of Crazytown) and I have GOT to find out how old Syrus is. To quote my fellow Real World lover, Chris, Syrus heads local AARP chapter in Boston at this point. (Ok, it wasn't a direct quote, but you get the gist). Anyway, I still want these people to get married and have babies (oh wait.. they HAVE, yet they still don't see that as the right time to STOP DOING CHALLENGES) and ya know, maybe get a real job someday, but I do get some pleasure out of watching them torture each other and basically fuck and drink themselves into an early grave.

Bravo loves taking care of their own, and $50 says I'll watch each and every one of these shows. Speaking of Bravo, sad news for new Atlanta Housewife, Kandi Burress. In better news, the OC housewives return on November 5, and thanks to his relationship with Gretchen (the third housewife he's bagged) it looks like so will Slade Smiley.. Seriously.. that can't be his real name. I've seen his parents on the show before and I can't believe they named their kid Slade Smiley.. Anyway, looks like drama, drama and more drama to come and I'm so damn excited! The housewives from the ATL just don't do it for me the way the OC ladies do!

How about that whole Letterman extortion plot!? The attorney for the accused was kind of a douche to Ann Curry on The Today Show this morning, but she was NOT having it! Who knew Dave was such a whore?

I didn't get to see Whip It this past weekend, but I hope to see it this week, regardless of the lackluster box office. Not every movie needs to be Oscar worthy.. sometimes they can just be fun!

Tomorrow night I'm volunteering to get a massage to help out a friend who's trying to get back into the business after a hiatus. Yeah, I'm a giver. Hope you all have a good, quick week!!

Then again, things could be worse....
All we can do now is hope for a prosperous off season....

Thursday, October 01, 2009

Here I am, awake way earlier than I need to be. It's Day 3 of Insanity, which is Recovery Day. It said the disc was 80 minutes long so I got up at 5 am to do it. Imagine my surprise to find that there are two programs on the disc, only one of which I need to do. So, I was done by about 10 of 5 with nothing to do before I need to get reayd for work. I'm now using this time to catch up on So You Think You Can Dance and try to get a blog post in. I've been so damn busy lately, so I'm not neglecting you on purpose!!

What a week it's been for the Kardashians!!! Khloe DID marry Lamar Odom on Sunday.. Well, they had a wedding, but apparently there's a little issue with a prenuptial agreement. Apparently, the lawyers are working it out and when they do, they'll get married legally. I guess all this love has gone around, as Kim K. boarded a flight directly after the wedding to see her ex, Reggie Bush. She missed him... awwww.

I just watched this on the show that I taped, and it looked like vag to me! Since she made it to Vegas, I really hope she made the effort to wear underwear that DOESN'T look like her skin!

While I appreciate his talent (cause he's surely got it) I'm not sure what causes Hollywood's hottest to fall at his (probably not washed) feet.. But hey, when you got it, you got it, and who am I to judge him!? Seriously, he must be a tiger in the sack...

The Hills finally began, albeit without Lauren Conrad, but with new addition, Kristin Cavallari. Damn, that girl can bring the drama, although I kind of felt bad for her because she was basically ambushed for no reason. Granted, she doesn't need my sympathy. That bitch can hold her own and that's why I kinda dig her. Hell, just talking to her gave Justin Bobby more personality than he's had in the 400 grunting conversations I've watched him have with the vacant Audrina Patridge, so how can that be bad? Of course, I had to watch it's sister show, The City, even if it was just to watch Olivia Palermo FINALLY get bitched back at. Seriously, who goes into a new job and instantly berates their boss? Oh, I know.. a SOCIALITE... suck it Olivia, you're a tool. Speaking of The Hills, there's always one (or two more than likely) bad apples in the bunch!

Fame was fabulous!! Sue and I were the only ones in the theater, so we were able to comment when we wanted ot, which was kind of fun! The great thing about the movie is that they had the aspiring actors act, and had the others basically do what they're good at. Granted, they had lines here and there, but not too much! Just because someone is a great dancer or singer, doesn't mean they can act. However, the kids in the movie are amazing at what they can do and it was far from a waste of 2 hours of my life. Next on my list, Whip It!!! I hope to see it this weekend. There was an extended trailer for it during Fame, which only made me want to see it more, and sooner! Speaking of trailers, while I know I'm a little sappy, one has never made me cry until this one. I can't decide if I want to see it, or if I want to avoid it so as not to embarass myself.

Time for me to get ready for work. Happy Hour tonight so it's doubtful I'll post, but regardless, it's the end of the week so be happy about that!

Today's embarassing Ipod moment: After the Rain by Nelson. I can't help it, I love those early 90's platinum metal boys (ok.. maybe not so metal... but they looked the part), but they certainly should go onto my guilty pleasure playlist. Hmm.. I should actually make a guilty pleasure playlist. I'm sure my ipod is just overrun with songs only I want to hear on a regular basis..

Tre and I started the Insanity DVD's this morning.. It's not just a clever name.. the soreness I've felt all day will surely drive me to the brink of insanity. However, if I get as fit as I feel sore, I think I'll be pretty happy with the results. If not, me and beachbody.com are going to have a throwdown.. Well, we would if I were able to move my arms past my sides..

Sue and I have a hot date to see Fame tonight and I'm so excited!! I know, it's a little queer, but I love these kinds of movies and I remember the old school Fame. That, and I really liked Kherington Payne when she was on So You Think You Can Dance, which makes it a must see.. and a night for Sue to get out of the house for a few hours without Kapuki!!! And oh yeah.. POPCORN FOR DINNER!!!!!

Here's a little snippet to get you through the day. I can safely say I only saw one of these movies on purpose, and while I don't hate the movie, I loathe Diane Keaton, so you knew it couldn't turn out well...

I started the Kathy Griffin book: Official Book Club Selection. I'm only 50 pages in, but I've already found my favorite quote from it (for today):

To this day, the behavior of straight men is something I've never been able to wrap my head around. Have you ever met one? They're really weird. Sometimes they want to have sex without A Chorus Line playing in the background. Yuck. How is that even possible?

How can you not want to read this book?

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

The rumors have finally come true: Heather Locklear is joining the cast of Melrose Place to reprise her role as Amanda Woodward. It's not clear how long her appearances will last (she could be an "alive for only one episode" thing like Laura Leighton's Sydney) but I have a feeling she'll make an impression. I'm already looking forward to Josie Bissett's return as Jane next week!!!

Tim Gunn got all sorts of cranky this past week on Project Runway, thanks to the artfuly lying of ex-drug addict (and guy I find completely in the hunt for "Most Annoying PR Contestant" honors) Johnny. The assignment was to make an outfit out of newspaper. Johnny thought his was the bomb until Tim ripped him a new one. Johnny then proceeded to throw his dress away, then lying about the reasoning behind needing to make a new one. Nicholas completely threw him under the bus on the runway (which helped Nicholas out to no end) but I think everyone saw through Johnny, and Tim made his opinion abundantly clear, but not till after he was sweet as pie in letting Johnny go. Tim Gunn - he's a classy broad!

I watched the Emmy's, but I have to say this: I'm REALLY sick of 30 Rock... it's funny, I get it. But for God sakes, give someone else a chance!!! I mean, no nods for True Blood in the drama categories!? Please.. Jon Cryer winning for best comedic performance? um.. not so much! I did really enjoy it when Kristen Chenoweth won (and then subsequently needed medical treatment) and I thought she looked kinda sassy in her spangly minidress. The dresses didn't knock me out this year, although I thought Anna Torv (Fringe) looked absolutely breathtaking! Her dress wasn't like anyone else's and I like that. A lot of people didn't like Christina Applegate's dress, but I liked the color and thought it looked great on her! As for this, I don't care what he's wearing.. he's a sexy little beast..

Fox has ordered 13 more episodes of Glee!!!! If you haven't caught the show yet, please please please tune in! It's so worth it on so many levels!

Tre and I received our new Insanity DVD's in the mail today. We're going to start them on Monday and I really hope they do the job. If not, what a waste of money!? I'm not down with wasting money at this point in my life, so I'm gonna do all I can to make sure they do what they're supposed to! Speaking of weight loss, Kevin Federline has joined the cast for the next season of Celebrity Fit Club. Yeah, that might just be enough to get me to watch. He has certainly ballooned since his divorce from Britney and apparently he cares enough about how he looks to do something about it... or at least wait until he got a solid offer to care about it. That K-Fed.. what a head for business he has!

It's been quite a week for celebrity babies: Ellen Pompeo had a baby girl, as did Sarah Michele Gellar. Also (in the non-celebrity mode) congrats go out to my soccer teammate Shanan, as she gave birth to her first daughter, Payton, early this morning.. Great name ;) even if it is spelled wrong!

It may sound ridiculous (and even I agree) but Khloe Kardashian is getting married on Sunday to basketball player Lamar Odom. It's been one hell of a year for the Kardashians!

I hit up the new Wal-Mart in town last night for some shopping. It's nice, but I don't know where anything is so it took me a million times longer than usual and then I walked around the store and found random odds and ends that I needed, so I ended up spending more than I would have if I'd gone to a regular grocery store! I did get a really cool toilet paper holder that attaches to your tank so the TP isn't on the floor. I've said nothing but great things about it all day. As you get older I guess it really IS the little things, isn't it!?

Lots of tv to watch! Hope you all enjoyed your hump day... if i had one, that's what I'd be doing!! Screw TV!!! Have a great week!!!
How am I struggling to pay my bills when people are getting paid to study THIS? And probably boatloads of cash too... I missed my calling for sure..

Friday, September 18, 2009

What a long and busy week it's been! I won't go into details, but I'm happy to say I was busy for all the right reasons, if that's any consolation!

While she may not have done anything of substance during the game but make me laugh, Jordan came out with the win on Big Brother! I was pretty happy with the outcome considering the sounds of Natalie's voice makes me want to cringe, and if she won all the cash I'd probably have to see interviews with her and I'm rip my eyes out. No big deal. My friend Toine pointed out the awkwardness of the Jeff and Jordan reunion after her win, so I'm curious to see what, if anything, happens with the two of them. I'm also curious to see where Jeff pops up next, cause I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time we see his sexy ass on TV!

Let the Patrick Swayze tributes begin..

Choreographer and director Adam Shankman has been named as a permanent third judge on So You Think You Can Dance. When he first appeared on the show, he kind of got on my nerves, but he has since grown on me and I'm kind of looking forward to his insight. I doubt it'll be as colorful as Tyce D'Orio, but probably as direct.

This is a WHOLE lot of running!

And this is what you call "not wasting any time."

Housewives info: The disappointment has set in, cause there will REALLY be no Jeana Keough on the OC housewives, at least not for the whole season! Thankfully, we won't have to wait too long to see what happens, as the new season starts in November. In other Housewives news, Theresa (of NJ, table throwing fame) gave birth to her 4th girl this past week. Poor Joe! He's obviously glutton for punishment!

Considering rumors have been rampant for months, it's not much of a surprise to hear about the separation between Avril Lavigne and Derek Whibley. Sometimes those young celebrity weddings just don't work out for the best.

He got booted from the Eagles to make room for Michael Vick, but Hank Baskett (Mr. Kendra Wilkinson) was picked up by my very own faves, the Indianapolis Colts! I will think of him Monday night when I wear my jersey, drink beer, eat pizza and wings and cheer on my Peyton!!

Heading to Larkfest for a few hours tomorrow, but today I need to wish my little rugger Crystal a very happy 30th birthday, and my co-worker Ashley a happy 24th! I can't make it out to the Woo to celebrate with Crystal, but I think I managed to make Ashley's b'day a little more tolerable, since she had to be at work! Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

First and foremost, RIP to Patrick Swayze! I was so upset when Chris texted to tell me. He will forever be remembered as Johnny Castle and for never putting baby in a corner. What a classic! Not that I needed it, but now I have some motivation to finally see Point Break and Road House. I know.. shoot me now as I've never seen either of them.. He was a classy, talented guy and I'm sad to see him go.

In old news, Ellen Degeneres is replacing Paula Abdul as the fourth judge on American Idol. I, for one, don't get it. I didn't think much of her judging stint on So You Think You Can Dance, besides the humor and entertainment value. She's supposed to be the "real person" perspective. Um.. isn't that what THE AUDIENCE is for?

Katherine Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley will be adopting a child from Korea in the very near future.

Tonight is the two hour finale of Big Brother and all I can ask is for Natalie to NOT win! Her fate lies in the hands of Kevin and Jordan, who are playing against each other to win the final HOH. Jordan killed Natalie in their competition, much to Natalie's shock and dismay which was just so damn sweet. Hopefully if Kevin wins he brings Jordan to the final two with him.

The models were in charge this past week on Project Runway, which proved insanely detrimental to many of the guys, even though it was Qristal that was sent packing. It made sense, considering she dodged a bullet last week thanks to Mitchell's complete inadequacy. Hell, I could have sent a nightgown down the runway better than him!

The True Blood finale went down on Sunday night and while I was at first a little disappointed, the show ended with one hell of a cliffhanger. Who took Bill?! If you read the books like I did you might think you know, but considering I had no clue what the f was going on all season, I'm thinking I'm probably way off! June or so is WAY too long to wait for the next season HBO! However, so far I'm not impressed with Evan Rachel Wood as the Queen of Louisiana.. My friends who watch said I wouldn't be, but I didn't believe them. They were right..

If only I had the money and the wherewithall to renovate.. Maybe Jeff Lewis could help!

Rumor has it, she's moving to a town outside Utica.. freaky..

Maybe you haven't heard, but Kanye's a douche...

Sometimes you have to give the Devil his due...

My first passion party somehow canceled at the last minute (if canceling means "never returned my phone calls last week) so I'm a little bummed cause I had counted on that little bit of money coming in and I really wanted to get my jitters out! Now I have nothing booked.. I have plenty of people saying they'll book, but nothing solid yet. I should have found something less stressful!

Today is my god daughter Courtney's birthday AND my parent's anniversary. For some reason I can never remember how long they've been married, but my dad said it was 32 years. To which I replied "Tre and I are not bastard children..." So yeah.. I'm still not sure... I just know it's 33 or more years which is insane. Half the time I don't want to do anything for 33 minutes let alone 33 years!

I'm having a pity party kind of week. I have a wedding in October that I"m very excited about. Just got an adorable new dress for it as a matter of fact! Anyway, I then find out that the people I will more than likely be sitting with (and the only ones I will know) are all coupled up. Talk about depressing.. I have the option of bringing a date, but since it's not local, I would kind of rather go by myself.. I just don't watn to be the pathetic token girl with no date. Sometimes being single REALLY sucks.. Then, last night a great friend to our family died, which is pretty upsetting. She was the sweetest woman ever and had a great impact on my dad's life and I will miss her very much!! At least now Nanny can join Peep after all these years!!!

Ok.. time for me to pay attention to Big Brother! Hope you all have a great hump day!!!

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Perhaps these d-bags have no idea the importance of Cal Ripken to Baltimore, but I think they do now...

I just had my picture taken next to it with me Dad for God's sake!!!!

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Well, this should make for an interesting season on Dancing With the Stars, don't you think? I almost felt bad, but then I remembered how annoying I find Karina and I got over it.

This past weekend was the Chatham Fair, where I drank lots of beer and didn't eat enough fair food (although I did get the corn dog and gravy fries I craved). I have no pictures (my NEW camera has decided that turning on is not in its repertoire after it's trip to Baltimore), however I did manage to snag the 2009 Bull-Off Championship. Ok, so it's really nothing but a competition between friends, but I do now have bragging rights and what more do you need than that?!

Apparently when you get cast on True Blood you also get a significant other. I didn't care so much when it was Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, but Alexander Skaarsgard? Oh no she didn't! I don't even like blondes (unless they shave it all off) but he's drop dead sexy..

Considering the majority of America has some sort of credit card debt, maybe this is something we all should try to catch!

As expected, Jeff was evicted from the Big Brother house and much to my chagrin, Natalie won HOH by (in her own words) sticking to her word, which I find hysterical, since she's lied about her age the entire time she's been in the house. She put up Kevin (kind of as a pawn, but at this point, who knows?) and Michele, leading Jordan to believe she's safe. She just might be, if she wins the POV tonight, plus, she's probably safe anyway as Michele SEEMS to be the target, but you never know at this point in the game. Things get a little... blurry!

Project Runway was a massive clusterfuck in so many ways this week. It was time for a team challenge, so everyone paired up. All Epperson and Qristyl did was bitch at each other, on and off the runway and were subsequently in the bottom. Mitchell and Ra'Mon were the winners, however, for the first time in history, a winner got eliminated, as the judges couldn't get over the fact that Mitchell had no qualms about admitting that he did basically nothing during the challenge. Um, he didn't do anything ALL season and we're shocked he shirked his duties on this challenge? Yeah.. shocking!

90210 has started and it's been a pretty decent episode. I can only imagine what shenanigans they'll get up to on Melrose if there's so much drama on 90210! I feel like I'm 15 again... except now I'm pretty sure the clothes are better! America's Next Top Model (the short girl edition) and So You Think You Can Dance (first fall edition) both start tomorrow. Apparently I'm getting my very own DVR in my room, which has made me very happy, but my sister is elated! She kinda hates the shows I watch.. Plus, this gives us more space to tape even MORE crappy TV!

Cruise Meltdown has begun! My sister and I are going on a cruise in February adn we both want to lose some weight and get into bathing suit shape before then. We went for a run after work, in which, I wanted to die. We've barely ran since the boilermaker and it shows. Last week (our first run back) we did really really well and felt great afterwards. It hasn't been that way since. I guess that's motivation enough for you to not take a break, cause it makes it that much harder getting back into it!

Hope everyone enjoys this short work week!!!

I found this appropriate since yes, I DO start bowling tomorrow... I might have to do some research as I think I know MAYBE three of these songs! I should be ashamed..

Ah, the sadness... But at least I still have Jeremy Piven, who recently won his court case regarding his mercury poisoning while performing in "Speed the Plow" on Broadway. Take that Shellfish!!!

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....

Sandra sent me a really foul birthday card, but she made up for it by emailing me this:

I don't have a clue who's body she superimposed my head on to, and I don't care. My legs look FABULOUS! Happy birthday to me! Too bad I've been trying to swear off Jason's... Perhaps I should rethink that...

In the last few weeks, Lydia and Russell have joined Jessie in the jury house on Big Brother, leaving Jeff and the coat tail crew (Kevin, Natalie, Jordan and Michele) behind. Barring an act of God, Jeff should get the boot tonight instead of Jordan, so all I can really do is cheer for Michele or Kevin, as Natalie hasn't won a damn thing and been a whiny brat, where Jordan just followed Jeff along!

Project Runway has only just begun, but the "offbeats" have already gone home. Ari's futuristic silver outfit somehow got the boot, even though Mitchell sent a model down the runway with basically nothing on but a collar and a sheer nightgown. Mitchell once again evaded elimination last week when Malvin's existential "mother hen" look didn't get much interest from the judges. We'll see tonight if Mitchell finally puts together an outfit someone would consider wearing somewhere outside their own home! I don't really have any favorites as of yet, however I'm a little appalled that I'm enjoying the Models of the Runway show that Lifetime has put on after the show. We get to see what the models think of their designers and how the model pairing goes down until someone gets booted.

New shows start next week and I can't wait! Last night So You Think You Can Dance ran their "top 15 performances" show, which was a little predictable, but fun anyway. It was a nice lead in to their first fall season starting next week. If anyone knows a way to get the first season of SYTYCD (either on line or on DVD), please let me know! I only started tuning in during the second season, as I was without a DVR.. ah, the olden days!

I got my starter kit for Passion Parties last night and while I didn't have time to go through the whole thing, I'm a little.. flummoxed by all the work I need to do and things I need to get! This was supposed to be the job I get cause I don't have time for a real one! Oh well.. it'll work itself out, I'm sure!! I'm excited.. just a little overwhelmed, is all!

Anyway, time for me to get back to work! It's almost the holiday weekend.. enjoy it!

The view from the suite (yes, I said SUITE) at Camden Yards... There is NO better place to watch a game! This might be as close as I get to Cal!!!
Nikki and I late night after the track.. it was a LONG day o'boozing!!!

Jen and I.. BEFORE the losing commenced!!

Elkie (it was his RV) and all the girls...

What a whirlwind the last few weeks have been! I will post pics later on tonight, but for now, I'll just recap:

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND: Great time had with the girls, but also a fun time at the co-ed softball tournament. As much as we wanted to lose to free up our weekend, our competitiveness wouldn't allow us, and we came out of the losers bracket to take second place. It was ridiculously hot, tiring and sweaty, but it was still a great time. I got a new digital camera from my parents and FINALLY, after years of empty promises (you know who you are), my sister got me a Peyton Manning jersey! I can't wait to wear it!!

TEAM TRACK DAY: It was an early morning and long ride in Elkie's RV, but wow.. did we have a great time! I spent the entire weekend rolling coin just so I could place some bets, but it didn't matter. Nothing jumped out at me and I'm pretty sure I stopped betting in the 4th or 5th race. Better to not lose any money, right!? We all got way drunker than anticipated and danced our faces off both in the RV on the way home AND at Jackson's afterwards. I don't know if I ever want to go to the track NOT in an RV.. the weather held out and everyone had a blast!

BALTIMORE: FINALLY made it to Baltimore, even though it was a whirlwind 24 hour trip. My dad and uncle have met the concierge before, so we went up to see her and say hello. Both days she managed to get us into a corporate suite. The only way it could have been better was if Cal was sitting in the suite at the time. The O's only won one out of the two games, but it was an awesome trip!

This weekend is the Chatham Fair, so be prepared for some pictures of me trying to get onto the mechanical bull. I'm too short so Tre usually has to boost me up! There'll be corn dogs, gravy fries and fried dough aplenty!!!!

I've decided to take on a new venture, which is selling "Passion Products." Yes.. I'm peddling sex toys! But seriously, there's a lot more than that involved and I'm excited to say that I have my first party next Saturday. I'm not all about the public speaking so I'm insanely nervous, but I think once I get used to it, it'll be fun! Unfortunately, no one's been BEGGING me to let them have a party and I don't want to push anyone. I'm just not like that.. it's another reason I can't stand salespeople at the mall! However, I'm doing this to make some money so I might have to put on a LITTLE pressure! If you know of anyone who would be interested in having a party, feel free to have them get in touch with me. Even if you don't buy anything there's no doubt you'll be entertained and you'll get to help me out, which I thank you for in advance!

Macy's and I are going through a little rough patch in our relationship. Two weeks ago I paid $50 online... so I thought. A few days later when I had a return charge on my account I realized that instead of the $50 I thought I paid, I put through a payment of $5,000. Now, do I have $5,000!? No, and I honestly don't think I ever have! After countless phone calls and one annoying conversation with Mitra, the non-English speaking customer service representative, I was told to make another payment and that Macy's would reverse the charges out of "courtesy." Yeah... this was after Mitra said "I'm sorry you made a mistake, but...." Let's just say she had to speak to her supervisor after this conversation! Next stop was the bank, where I had to call an ex (who I am thankfully on great terms with) and explain the situation. He laughed at me, then gave me the number of the guy at the bank who could help me out. He was ridiculously nice and totally understood the situation, so he reversed the charge for me. Three days later... new charge, as they tried AGAIN to take my money out. Um.. HELLO!? Not gonna work! So this time I called the checking place and they agreed to not do that anymore, and then I had to call the bank again and have him reverse the charges. That was NOT a good week for me!

So this is what has been taking me away from my blog, as well as softball, which is now over. Cruise meltdown starts on Tuesday, so I'll be hitting the gym and running a lot more too. I'm going to try to continue to keep up with the blog, but it may get thrown by the way side from time to time. Work with me!

Pictures and TV information to come later.. Lots has happened on Big Brother and I haven't even had a chance to welcome Tim Gunn back to the airwaves. Happy Hump Day!!!!

Happy Birthday Cal!!

Can't wait to get to the house that Cal built on Saturday!!!

I know.. I'm on vacation.. but I couldn't resist:

Of the 13 shows listed, I am an avid fan of 7 1/2 (I can only give Parks and Recreation a half cause it's barely been on TV)... Yet you people trust my TV judgment... There's something wrong here.. Regardless, it must be cause you have as shitty taste as I do and for that, I thank you.

Seriously people.. How could you NOT want to see if the secret ingredient guy from Iron Chef can do anything more than maniacally announce ingredients?!

Vacation back on...

VACATION

I'm gonna have the blog on vacation for a few days.

I've acquired a virus on my home computer, which isn't allowing me to post and giving me more headaches than I need so I don't want to keep anyone in suspense. Hopefully I'll be able to post again by this weekend.

Unfortunately, I have no birthday weekend pics for you to enjoy, as I spent the entire weekend playing ball, but I hope to soon regale you with stories regarding Big Brother, Project Runway and the clusterfuck that is most certainly my life ;)

Perhaps while you aren't reading my blog, you can find me a sugar daddy.. work on that!

Happy Summer to All! I'll be back soon, I promise!

I found out today that there is a Mennonite Church in Chatham. I saw the sign, but didn't think much of it, but then I saw actual followers walking into the church. I'm talking, wearing the little hats and simple clothes.. the whole shebang! Call me ignorant, but considering the only thing I know about Mennonites I learned from Salome on Make Me A Supermodel! You can file this under "you really DO learn something new every day!"

I went to the outlets in Lee today, and found out that I CAN fit into the jeans at Banana Republic, but their large shirts are far from large. It was my first time shopping there, as I've seen lots of my friends find cute stuff, but apparently XL is not an option. The one shirt I did find in an XL was too big.. I must be a semi-XL! I then ventured over to the Gap where I waited way too long for someone to wait on me. I don't understand how these outlet stores have no one manning the register. I mean, isn't the whole point to SELL people something so they can give you money for it... AT THE REGISTER!? I had a guy walk by me three times when I was the only one in line at the Nike outlet. I was waving my gift card in the air and he STILL walked right past me... I finally had to ask him if anyone in the store was working. Bitchy? Perhaps, but time was of the essence and did I mention he walked past me three times? He's lucky that's all I asked.

I saw a vending machine that takes credit cards today. All I have in my wallet at the moment is a winning $2 Lucky 7's lotto ticket, so I was really excited about it, except there was nothing in it that I wanted bad enough to test it out.

Last night I watched Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian on Chelsea Handler, and I have to say, they kind of stole the show away from her. They could care less about what they say, as evidenced by their conversation revolving around putting a mayonnaise mask on each other's "vagene." Pretty damn funny if you ask me. In unexpected Kardashian news, Kourtney (who spent time last night discussing her kissing of chicks in Miami) is preggers! She's not letting anyone in on who the baby daddy is just yet, but it'll only be a matter of time before US Weekly has a slew of men gunning for illegitimate fatherhood, regardless of the fact that it's probably her lying cheating ex. Ahhhhh love!

In other news about E! shows, Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett are expecting a baby boy.. I feel bad for him if he's not even slightly jocky, considering they're both pretty athletic!

I watched The House of Yes tonight and while it was entertaining, I'm just not down with the whole incest vibe. Regardless, I do love it when Parker Posey plays crazy..

Tomorrow night I'm going to the ValleyCats game with work. Apparently we have 70 some people going. They buy us dinner (hamburgers and hot dogs I hear) and the tickets, and we bond over baseball. It's supposed to be a nice night out, so it should be a good time. After that, my co-worker has decided we should go out in Troy for my b'day, and who am I to say no!? So.. birthday weekend starts tomorrow at 5 pm and I am looking forward to it, even though I have absolutely no idea what's going on. I'm way too OCD and anal retentive to not know what's going on days in advance. This is seriously killing me! However, ball game Friday night and then some drinks at MJ's.. that's the best I can do! So what I'm trying to say is, don't expect any posts till afterwards and maybe (if you're lucky) there'll be pictures to boot! I'll do my best yet make no promises!!

Finally, CONGRATS go out to Rob, who after lots of time spent in a shitty employment market, landed a job and will start on Monday! We'll celebrate when I get to Baltimore (finally)!!

Have a great weekend everyone.. I'll think of you while I'm relaxing, playing ball, drinking and sweating my ass off!

It's a miracle! Two ball games in three days and no rain outs.. Let's hope this trend continues (minus insane humidity). THAT would be awesome!

Congratulations to Jennifer Hudson and fiance David Otunga, on the birth of their first child, a son. I just can't get over the fact that he was a contender on "I Love New York." Talk about an upgrade. Good choice David!

I keep seeing the commercials for Taking Woodstock and I can't wait to see it! I wonder if I'll see anyone I know, as it was filmed not far from here. As a matter of fact, there was a local screening of the movie a few weeks ago, and even director Ang Lee was present. Not too shabby Columbia County!

Bull Durham was on Sunday afternoon. It took every ounce of strength I had not to skip the christening and ball game, just to listen to Kevin Costner (Crash Davis) wax poetic about "the show" and other such things. Someone PLEASE explain to me how Kevin Costner would ever lose out in romance to Tim Robbins. Granted, Costner won out in the end, but Sarandon chose Robbins for life!

Jeremy Piven showed up on Big Brother Sunday night to promote his new movie, The Goods. I'm kind of glad I wasn't in the house because I probably would have fainted, made an ass out of myself or both. I could just see me drooling all over his cute little ass and not being able to form a complete sentence. That would be incredibly awkward on national television.

One housewife seems to have "lost" her home, while another wants to sell hers. Apparently it's better to be a housewife in NY, as opposed to Atlanta. They can't seem to hold onto a mansion to save their lives!!!

Why, oh why can't Young Hollywood learn to keep their clothes on!?

I didn't get into Sons of Anarchy in the first season, but I've seen so many commercials for it lately that I'm slowly becoming intrigued... because I need yet another show to add to my DVR series recordings! Speaking of things I'm intrigued by, you can bet that while I'm watching Mad Men this Sunday, I'll be taping Antonio Sabato's new dating show on VH1, where (if you saw the sneak peek the other day) his ex-wife is an unexpected suitor vying for his affection. Awkward and just one more reason why I ADORE VH1!

Does anyone else think Paula Abdul might actually be better off without Idol!? I mean, everyone wants her and it seems like people are actually taking her seriously, which was NOT an option after "Hey Paula!" Latest news is that Paula will guest star on Ugly Betty. Granted, it did nothing for Lindsey Lohan, but perhaps Paula can turn the tide!!!

As for the O's, well.. not much is going on, but did you really expect there to be?! Just trying to get through the season and hopefully they're holding out some greatness for when I get there in two and a half weeks!!

I'm a little sleepy and I'm trying to enjoy Rescue Me, so I'm going to call it a night. Tomorrow is a hump day (allow me to live vicariously) and that means only two days left of my work week. Birthday weekend starts Thursday at 5!!!
