Advice: If you're going to poop at work, don't wear obvious shoes.

I mean, it's one thing if someone comes in the bathroom and you're COMPLETELY silent, waiting for that person to leave and clenching your cheeks until they wash their hands (way too slow) and get the F out. However, if you're wearing.. let's say.. shoes that aren't black or brown, all I have to do is look under the stall (which I can see in the mirror while washing my hands) and I will know who's had chili for lunch. Think about that..

After five solid hours of blogging on Sunday night, I needed (and still do need) a break! Therefore, don't get mad at me if my blogs aren't quite as... consistent this week. I have A LOT going on!

Last night I left work a little early so I could get my hair cut and colored. I'm blonder (yay) and since I don't see the point in letting a good hair night go to waste, I stopped at the bowling alley aftewards. Ok, that's probably still considered a waste, but it was fun. Tre's team (her, my Dad, Billy Graz and Jason) were bowling against a few friends of ours, and the shit talking started VERY early in the morning, so I had to be there to check it out. Tre's team stepped it up once I got there, but I hope that doesn't mean I have to be there every week. I mean, I missed Heroes and everything! Anyway, I had a few beers and hit the hay the second I got home. Slept like a baby too..

Today wasn't special either. Work was consistent and while I was hoping to catch a movie tonight (as I have been for the last two months.. I'm in serious movie/popcorn withdrawal), I ran instead. Well.. running for me, which is probably a brisk walk for others! So here I am, sitting on my couch, watching NCIS and blogging as I await the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion show on Bravo. Yes, I'm well aware there's a Presidential Address on at 9, which is exactly why I'm watching Bravo! A new NYC Housewives is on at 10.

Did I mention that I watched High School Reunion on TV Land? Love Love Love.. One episode in and I already can't wait to see what happens. I can even remember most of the people on the show too, which is pretty impressive as there's quite a few to remember. If you get TV Land, definitely give it a shot!

In case you're wondering New York Post, I'll be more than happy to take that job on for half the pay!

But they always looked so happy (note the sarcasm)...

Nicole Richie is pregnant with her second child with Joel (I think it's Joel) Madden from Good Charlotte. This child will be the younger sib to their daughter Harlow.

I swear my post it was chock full from the last two days, but my brain and body are fried. Get ready for the day o'hump as I prepare for my last soccer game (at least until September)!

Yay! It's time for Best Actress, and the past winners there to help present the award are Sophia Loren, Shirley Maclaine, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard. Not a bad bunch of talent, that's for sure! A standing ovation too! The nominees for Best Actress are Anne Hathaway (who can't believe Shirley Maclaine is talking to her and commending her talent.. so cute), Kate Winslet, Melissa Leo, Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie. And the Oscar goes toKate Winslet. Good God, that whole presentation was one tear jerker moment after another! Granted, I'm a sap, but still! I love that Kate Winslet's dad's whistle penetrated the entire auditorium and I find it funny that she didn't know where he was sitting! I think I'd make it a point to find out where my parents were!

Are we not taking a break? SWEET!

Best Actor is up next, and the past winners helping to present the award are Robert De Niro (I wish he'd combed his hair), Ben Kingsley, Anthony Hopkins, Adrien Brody (go to the barber with Christopher Walken) and Michael Douglas. The nominees for Best Actor are Frank Langella (as introduced by Michael Douglas, who's looking pretty good up there, I have to say!), Sean Penn (who's ALSO looking kinda hot, especially for someone I never found attractive), Richard Jenkins, Brad Pitt and Mickey Rourke. And the Oscar goes to Sean Penn for his role as Harvey Milk. I kind of wanted Mickey Rourke to win, just to cement his comeback, but I've heard Milk is a great film and I already love his acceptance speech, starting with "you commie homo-loving sons a guns," ending with a plea to support equal rights for gays! Way to go Mr. Penn... However, I don't need to hear your political beliefs.. just say thank you, and be on your way. He thanks Mickey Rourke, but not his wife, who pretty much had to grab his face to kiss him after his win. Interesting...

Finally, Stephen Spielberg is on the stage to present the award for best film (I'm so glad there have been no commercials in between these big awards, and my sleep patterns will thank the Academy as well). I also enjoyed the montage introducing the nominees, where other best pictures were spliced in with this year's nominees. The nominees are: Frost/Nixon, Slumdog Millionaire, The Reader, Milk and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. And the big winner is...... Slumdog Millionaire!!!! Definitely the big winner tonight and hopefully a movie I'll be seeing in the very near future as it JUST made it to a local movie theater!

I'm sure the speech will be great, but the extra sleep will be as well. Hope you enjoyed the show (and its winners) as much as I did. Good night!
Here comes Queen Latifah to sing during the video montage of those that were lost this year. She's done so much acting in the last few years that I forget she can actually sing.

Hugh Jackman again.. Please give me a big award Hugh... I'm sleepy.. President of the Academy.. no speech.. Yay!

Reese Witherspoon, in a dress I don't like. I didn't think she was capable of that. She is here to introduce the Best Director Award, and the nominees are: Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire), Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon), David Fincher (Benjamin Button), Stephen Daldry (The Reader) and Gus Van Sant (Milk) and the Oscar goes to Danny Boyle for Slumdog Millionaire! That award is HUGE, as is the bouncing that's done by Boyle (for his kids of course).

Coming up.. the final awards of the evening.. or so they say.. I wonder how many commercial breaks I'm going to have to sit through to get to them!
Liam Neeson and Frieda Pinto are up next to hand out the award for Best Foreign Language Film. The nominees are: The Baader Meinhof Complex, The Class, Departures, Revanche, Waltz with Bashir. I apologize for not getting the countries to you but I can't type that fast. The Oscar goes to: Departures (Japan). I heard a lot about The Class and Waltz with Bashir, so I have to say I'm surprised by the win!

Hopefully the good shit's up next cause I've got toothpicks to keep my eyelids open.. Oh but wait.. Tom Colicchio... Ok... I can stay awake a LITTLE while longer ;)
Lifetime achievement... humanitarian award.. whatever. Jerry Lewis looked good and kept it short and sweet as well.

We're back with Hugh Jackman again.. it's all about the music and then we get a selection from each of the nominated scores, as played by the Oscar orchestra.. The nominated scores are from Benjamin Button, Defiance, Wall-E, Milk and Slumdog Millionaire, as presented by Zac Efron and Alicia Keys. I don't care if she IS wearing a weave, I dig it! The Oscar goes to Slumdog Millionaire. I think the Indians might be taking over the Oscars this year. It seems this movie can't lose!

The next award is for best original song, which I'm kind of glad they're only playing snippets of each and not a full performance for each song (sorry Peter Gabriel). Two of the songs are from Slumdog Millionaire while one is from Wall-E. I wonder who will win!? (note the sarcasm). I know it's only bits and pieces but the Slumdog Millionaire crew is putting on a pretty decent performance piece, even with the time constraints. John Legend is up, and I'm thinking it's to take Peter Gabriel's place in performing the nominated song from Wall-E, but I can't be sure. He's backed by an African choir, so I can only assume it's not from Slumdog Millionaire. Lots of dancers back on stage, so the final song from Slumdog Millionaire is up. Loving the dancing on this show, I really am..

And the Oscar goes to: Slumdog Millionaire. I'm pretty sure no one is suprised by the outcome.
We're in the postproduction stage of the movies. Hugh says it's the cool stuff. I say it's the part of the show where I just want the awards to end so I can go to bed. Oh wait.. That's the lifetime achievement award. Great montage of action movies though. I even think I saw Jason Statham in there a couple times... What more could a girl ask for?

Will Smith appears next to introduce the nominees for visual effects: Benjamin Button, The Dark Knight and Iron Man. The Oscar goes to: Benjamin Button. Again, there were LOTS of makeup and effects in that movie, so I'm not the least bit surprised to see it win these awards. Only one of three guys got to make a speech. Sucks to be them..

Outstanding sound editing: The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Slumdog Millionaire, Wanted and Wall-E. The Oscar goes to The Dark Knight! YAY! I'm telling you.. that was a GREAT flick and it shoudl have gotten more nominations than it did, so I'm glad to see it not totally getting it's ass kicked by Benjamin Button.

Sound mixing: Will Smith.. still trying to make the boring awards entertaining... Nominees are: Benjamin Button, The Dark Knight, Slumdog Millionaire, Wall-E and Wanted (these nominees look strangely familiar). The Oscar goes to: Slumdog Millionaire! Well.. at least no one hogged all the awards. It's nice to share the wealth.

I don't mean that they're boring awards, I just really want to get through them so I can see the big ones and hit the hay. Congrats to all the winners!!!

I'm totally not getting to bed before 11:30... Why does the show start at 8:30? Seriously.. That extra half hour was a waste of people I'd already seen on the E! red carpet!

Will Smith... still talking about post production. I think we're really near the end now, as it's time for the Editing award: The nominees are: Frost/Nixon, The Dark Knight, Milk, Slumdog Millionaire and Benjamin Button. The Oscar goes to Slumdog Millionaire, once again.

Someone get Danny Boyle a napkin. He needs to blot that forehead.. Must be hot in the theater.

Ok.. congrats to Jerry Lewis, but I need to get my stuff ready for tomorrow AND get myself ready for bed, so I'm gonna skip the lifetime achievement award. I'll be back in a bit.
I just went downstairs to change my laundry, and told my sister that Heath Ledger won the Oscar. Her response: "How was his speech? "Terrible... absolutely terrible.

Bill Maher is up to introduce the Documentary nominees, and bitch that his documentary didn't get a nod. I cant' remember all the nominees, so I'll just tell you that the Oscar goes to: Man on Wire, which is basically the only one I'd even heard of. I think it's about a man.... on a wire.. who can do magic. Sweet..

Nominees for best Short Documentary are: The Conscience of Nhem En, The Final Inch, Smile Pinki and The Witness From the Balcony of Room 306. The Oscar goes to Smile Pinki, and the poor winner (Megan Mylin) has a long way to go to get to that stage, but she makes it in record time in a dress and heels!
I was just looking at red carpet pics online, and I thought Bridget Fonda was Helen Hunt. Oops.. I wondered why either would be there in the first place.

I think it's time for Best Supporting Actor. I really don't know who I want to win. I wouldn't mind if Heath Ledger won cause it was a great performance, but there's always that whole thing of whether he won because he died. Doubtful, as it really was a worthy performance! It'd be so cool if Robert Downey Jr. won as well. The men there to represent Best Supporting Actors of yore are Christopher Walken (PLEASE cut your hair), Kevin Kline, Cuba Gooding Jr, Alan Arkin and Joel Grey (ok.. Joel Grey? So cool...) He was just on Private Practice and made me bawl for days. And oh yeah.. he can dance! I heart him immensely... Anyway, the nominees are Philip Seymour Hoffman, Josh Brolin (grrrr), Robert Downey Jr., Michael Shannon and Heath Ledger.

And the Oscar goes to: Heath Ledger, who's family is there to accept on his behalf. Oh damn.. I've already got tears in my eyes so I don't know if I can even listen to his family speak. And damnit.. Sean Penn has tears in his eyes. If someone has tears in their eyes, I can't NOT have tears in my eyes!!! I'm pretty sure they won't be played off the stage during this acceptance speech! His father's speech was short and sweet and now it's his mom's turn to speak, also short and sweet. His sister is next and there really isn't a dry eye in the entire house! That's certainly a moment that will live on forever.

Yeah... after that, who really cares about the documentary yearbook?
Hugh Jackman.. praising the musical, and looking saucy in a subtle costume change into white tie and tails.. Time for a song and dance number, and would there be one without Beyonce? I love musicals.. and I love dance numbers. Oh snap.. Beyonce's playing that whole Etta James thing again. Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens join the sing along, as do Amanda Seyfriend and who I think is Dominic Cooper from Mama Mia? I'll be honest.. I don't know for sure who he is.. They all have nice voices though so who cares!?

I think Hugh is right... the musical IS back!

and I was right.. Dominic Cooper.. Damn I'm good.
2008 comedy yearbook starts off with James Franco and Seth Rogen in character from Pineapple Express, explaining and giving their two cents about the comedies..

They even laugh at the not funny movies.. Yep.. weed can make you do funny things... so I heard.

I loved Pineapple Express, and I love these guys. There couldn't be better people to joke around about comedies.

James Franco, a cinematographer whose name I can't spell (Janusz Kaminski?.. I gave it a shot), and Seth Rogen are there to introduce the Oscar for Best Live-Action Short (after pointing out their yearbook was written by Judd Apatow). The nominees are: On the Line, Manon on the Asphalt, New Boy, The Pig and Toyland. And the Oscar goes to: A bald man in black (for Toyland).. who I'm assuming is gay from the way he pranced up to the podium. Or maybe that's just how the Germans roll..
Jessica Biel. Yep.. still not a fan. I don't hate the hair as much, but the big ruffly bow and satin? So not a fan.

However, Jessica hosted the Sci-Tech Academy Awards a few weeks ago, so she is there to congratulate those award winners, most of whom, no one will ever know or see on broadcast TV, yet they will probably make more money off one movie/idea than I'll make in my life.
Cinematography... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (my apologies to cinematographers of the world).

Natalie Portman and Ben Stiller to present. Now THAT is how you wear a colored dress. She looks amazing in a bright pink gown.. while Ben Stiller looks like the unabomber.. and he's chewing gum.. Is it? Yep.. I had a feeling it was their way of poking fun at Joaquin Phoenix's "retirement." Ben Stiller really did look like he worked at a meth lab. Way to keep it together Natalie, while Ben Still wanders around the stage until it's his time to speak again. The cinematography nominees are: Benjamin Button, Slumdog Millionaire, The Dark Knight, Changeling and The Reader. The Oscar goes to the guy from Slumdog Millionaire. Ya know.. even through the whole intro, I still have no idea what a cinematographer does.
SJP and Daniel Craig come out to present art direction. Ok.. when did she get boobs? Apparently that dress really is worth every penny.. The nominees are: Benjamin Button, The Duchess, The Dark Knight, Changeling and Revolutionary Road. And the Oscar goes to: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I have to say, while it might have been a bit too long, it was a visually beautiful film!

More awards.. costume design this time. I'm really glad that only the "big" awards are the ones that take hours to present. The nominees for costume design are: Revolutionary Road, The Duchess, Milk, Benjamin Button and Australia. And the Oscar goes to: The Duchess. Makes sense. I think it was the movie that probably had the most costume to design!

And now.. makeup. Gee.. I wonder who'll win that one? The nominees are: Benjamin Button, The Dark Knight, Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Ok wait.. this could be closer than I thought.. The Oscar goes to: Benjamin Button. Yup.. I was right. Always go with your first instinct.

Time for my sister's boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, presenting a movie yearbook of romance with Amanda Seyfriend from Mamma Mia. Romance is even more romantic when it's shown to you by a sexy man with an accent. They even showed a kiss from Milk. Well I guess the Oscars really ARE getting progressive, aren't they?
Tina Fey and Steve Martin teach us how to write a movie. MUCH better dress on Tina today than at the Golden Globes. Two funny people being funny.. how can you go wrong? Especially when you poke fun at Scientology... but not really..

They are presenting the award for Best Original Screenplay: Frozen River, Happy-Go-Lucky, In Bruges, Milk and Wall-E.

And the Oscar goes to Dustin Lance Black for Milk! I have yet to see the movie since God forbid Hudson get any Oscar-nominated film, but I've heard great things and it seems to be well-deserved. I'm afraid the Chatham Film Club will be disappointed tonight, as Frozen River didn't win. I believe the writer of that film lives in East Chatham!

Good speech as well. I guess it'd be kind of wrong if a writer couldn't write a great speech, am I right?

Next up: Adapted Screenplay: Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Doubt, Frost/Nixon, The Reader and Slumdog Millionaire.

And the Oscar goes to: Slumdog Millionaire! Just one of what I'm sure will be many awards for that cast and crew tonight.

Jennifer Aniston and Jack Black.. there's a couple. She looks beautiful, which IS the best revenge when your ex-husband and his hot girlfriend are in the front row. She and Jack Black introduce the first "video yearbook" geared towards animation. I'd tell you more about it, but I need to fold my laundry.

Nominees for Best Animated Feature are Bolt, Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda, with the Oscar going to Wall-E. I'm afraid I'm not up to date on my animated movie watching, but I really want to see both Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda.. Bolt looks cute, but it's not on my Must See list.

Animated Short Film is the next category Aniston and Black present. They play off each other really well! The nominees are: La Maison en Petits Cubes, Lavatory-Love Story, Oktapodi, Presto and This Way Up (and no.. I haven't see any of these either). The winner is La Maison en Petits Cubes. Viva La France, even though a Chinese guy is accepting and obviously English is NOT his first language. He does know how to say Thank you though! That's a good start and he ends with a "domo origato Mr. roboto." A sense of humor.. very nice
I've been banished to my bedroom, so it must be OSCAR time!

Good god, I love a man with an accent. I don't care what he does on the telecast, as long as he keeps talking.. SEXY! He starts off with a laugh too, that's a good sign. I knew he could sing and dance, but I've never seen him do it. And I'm always a sucker for a guy that can't help but laugh at himself. I thought the performance number was pretty funny, to be honest! It's fun to poke fun at the rich and famous, especially after last year's show was so.. well.. boring. And yes Hugh.. Anne Hathaway was a great Nixon.. I always like it when the host interacts with the stars because it's fun for them to be put on the spot and see how they react.

And yay.. we get to the first award quickly, with a montage of past Best Supporting Actress winners. Apparently past winners will each announce a nominee. I kind of like it. It's nice to see past winners welcome another to their exclusive club. This one includes Eva Marie Saint, Whoopi Goldberg, Anjelica Huston, Tilda Swinton and Goldie Hawn. I think Viola Davis might throw up, cry or both. Whoopi Goldberg always could get a laugh, even at the expense of nuns.

I'm warning you now.. if every award is going to take 20 minutes to present, I'm giving up early.

And the winner is: Penelope Cruz! Wow... I really didn't see that coming! I know she's won many awards for her role, but for some reason I thought something more dramatic would get it. Good for her! I have yet to see the movie but I heard it's great and may actually make me watch a Woody Allen movie all the way through.

My mom just called to ask me who "the woman is that looks like a statue." That would be Tilda Swinton. My mom still doesn't know who she is.
I've seen Meryl Streep look like a completely hot mess, but I think she looks kind of nice tonight. The dress fits her well and it is certainly age appropriate. She usually does the off the shoulder thing, whcih when you're her age, is about all you can do (unless you have the body of Helen Mirren, which she doesn't).

I love Jack Black, but he's a tad too scruffy for the Oscars. I do liek the blue suit though. It's different and perfect for him.

It's a lot of dress, but Marisa Tomei can pull it off. The color looks amazing on her and while it's a lot of pleats, I think it works for her.

Seth Rogen is looking GOOD! I don't know if I would recognize him if he weren't with Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, who looks amazing in her dress. I'm not sure if I like it quite yet, but it's skin tight and she pulls it off for sure.
Freida Pinto... by far one of the best dressed of the night. The color is stunning on her and the cut is completely different from anything that's been on the carpet. That girl is drop dead gorgeous and if she dumped her husband to date her 18 year old co-star, well.. you go girl!

I feel dirty saying it, but Zac Efron is such a cutie! His skin is like BUTTAH..

LOVE Viola Davis's hair.. not so much on the dress. it's a little too... shiny for my taste, but she looks great in it. And I love that her husband looks like he's bursting with pride. Too cute..

Wow... that's really all I can say about Miley Cyrus. I'm not sure if I like it or not, to be honest. I do like the cut and the neckline, but the jury is still out on the bottom. I think she pulls it off better than Sarah Jessica Parker, who is more than double her age.
Amy Adams - who would think a redhead could pull off a red dress? However, she does and I think the necklace really does look beautiful with that dress. She certainly pulls off the look, at least I think she does.

Speaking of looks, Sarah Jessica Parker - wow.. I don't know what her whole fascination is with the ballerina dresses, but I think she's getting a touch too old for that whole thing. Granted, she still looks nice and I like her best when her hair is brown instead of bleach blonde. If she and Matthew Broderick really are having problems, they're both amazing actors cause you'd never know it.

Ok.. the more I look at Kate Winslet's hair, the more I like it. Maybe I was just getting a bad angle before.
Oh yay.. Seacrest didn't get TOTALLY snubbed by the Jolie-Pitt clan. Brad threw him a bone.. a very small bone, but a bone just the same.

Robert Downey Jr looks... kinda sexy. I like him all clean shaven and dressed up! I don't necessarily like the grey lapels, but it might be the best I've ever seen him look!

Awww.. Tim Gunn. I adore him. And Robin Roberts.. even half bald, she looks amazing in that dress, and the color works so well with her skin tone! She sure does make cancer survivors proud!
Wow.. Tilda Swinton's dress is way more normal than I expected. Still ugly, but somewhat normal!

Ooh.. Alicia Keys... pretty in pink for sure. I never recognize her when her hair is all blown out and done. I think she looks amazing!
I never like it when Penelope Cruz wears bangs. I don't know what my issue is with it. She's still beautiful and she's also wearing cream, with nice, simple jewelry. I can't see the bottom of the dress so maybe I won't like it, but the top is pretty.

I love Philip Seymour Hoffman and he's a big guy, so he's not gonna get the attention of Brad Pitt, but the beanie was NOT a good choice.

Ok, it's different, but I kind of enjoy Kate Winslet's dress! It's definitely different from anything I've seen with the gunmetal gray and the lace, but I think it looks really nice on her. I'm not a huge fan of the hair, but hey.. she still looks gorgeous and she knows what kind of shoes to wear with her dress. I dig that in a girl!

As for Penelope Cruz, I saw the bottom of the dress and it's kind of.. eh. She always goes for these big princessy dresses and it's pretty, but a bit much sometimes.

I so don't like blousey... Jessica Biel.. blousey.. ugh..

Oh Beyonce.. you stand out honey, but I'm not sure it's in a good way.
Very simple dress on Angelina Jolie, but she looks GORGEOUS in it! The green earrings are a nice touch and her hair is beautiful. She might not do it every day these days, what with the bazillion kids and all, but she does know how to go glam when the time comes. I've always had a girl crush on her (ever since I saw Gia) and now I know why... the bitch is beautiful and I both hate her and love her for it.
I'm pretty sure Mickey Rourke is not drunk and not a completely hot mess so far! I mean, he's not wearing a tux or anything, but he's looked worse!

Ooh.. Josh Brolin. I'm really not a huge goatee fan these days, but he sure does wear it well. He is a sexy son of a bitch. He and Diane Lane are by far one of the prettiest couples I've ever seen. I do wish she'd worn a color other than black, but maybe she just didn't want to steal her man's thunder. That's sweet.

I hope Jessica Biel didn't spend much on her hair. If she did, she might want to think about firing her hairstylist.. Maybe that's who she was talking to on her cell phone on the red carpet. I just saw Jessica Biel's dress and while I don't like the white on Evan Rachel Wood, I think it looks nice on Jessica Biel... OH GOD, UNTIL I SEE HER SHOES! What the hell is that? Ugh.. that's terrible.. get a pedicure and wear strappy sandals for god's sake!

Anne Hathaway is so damn pretty. For someone who's pale, you would never think she should wear white, but she pulls it off, unlike Evan Rachel Wood. It's a pretty silhouette on her, but she looked so amazing at the Globes and I wish she'd gone with a bright color, but that's just my opinion.

Oh, Marion Cotillard. I didn't expect her to wear something... normal. It has its pretty aspects but let's just say.. that is A DRESS.
I can't even begin to explain my weekend, but I'll try.

Yesterday Tre, Danny and I went to the Siena game... Kind of. We had tickets in the nosebleed section, so instead of going in, we watched the game on TV and drank some beers at Broadway Joe's. A friend of ours was in one of the boxes, so we went in to hang out with the guys. While I was in there, I met a few guys and ended up chatting with one. Well, amazingly enough, he asked me for my number and I gave it to him, cause why the hell not? I mean, the majority of guys get numbers just to say they got numbers so if he doesn't call, really.. who cares? Well.. he called! lol.. I was in the middle of Shoprite tonight and I get this random number on my phone, so I picked it up and it was him. Really nice guy. Very easy conversation. He did ask me out and I told him we could definitely get together at some point. Seriously.. if you're a girl and you want to meet a guy, go to Broadway Joe's just prior to or shortly after any sporting event. That place was a veritable sausage fest yesterday! Good times.. After the game we ran to Savannah's for a drink, then dinner at Jillian's. Tre and Danny had a few too many jager bombs so (as usual) I got to drive home. THAT was fun. I had stopped and was fine to drive, but it was that after boozing low that you get and I was beat by the time we got home. I actually shut my light off at 9:45 on a Saturday night. And it felt GOOD!

I had to get up early today to drive to Schenectady to bowl in a doubles tournament with Jason. I slept kinda crappy last night, as I was a little concerned about oversleeping and worried about the impending snow.. What a waste that was! Anyway, I bowled well enough, but Jason blew the doors off, so we ended up in 7th place overall going into the semifinals. I kind of neglected to tell Jason that the top 8 teams have to bowl another game and whoever comes out on top for that, gets on TV. Oops.. :) So yeah, we ended up in 7th and had to bowl the 2nd place team, a seemingly nice guy and this crazy lesbian who swore at herself the whole time. It was scary! She swore like a truck driver the whole time and not for any good reason, as she barely got tapped, unlike myself. I'm not saying I threw the ball perfectly, but there were shots that could have gone another way, if you know what I mean. Honestly, I didn't really want to get on the TV show. You have to write this bio about all your accolades and these people bowl 300 all the freaking time (cause the house shot is so obviously blocked.. I mean.. you don't average 245 and NOT be on the tour), and I would have.. well.. nothing to write! That, and I got my winnings today instead of having to wait. Granted, it would have been considerably more if we'd made the top 4, but what can you do? Maybe next time! Regardless, I got my money back and then some, so that made me pretty darn happy! I then persuaded Jason to take me to lunch since I drove, so I certainly was a big winner today. However, I might not make it to my weigh in tomorrow, as I pretty much ate my face off today. I think the brownie obsession at Friday's is definitely worth it though!

The Red Carpet for the Oscars are on as we speak and I have to say, Taraji P. Henson looks STUNNING! The hair, the dress, everything. Seriously, that's how I would love for my hair to look so I'll have to tell Shannon about that. Granted, tomorrow she's making me blonder so I don't know how that will work out. Like I said, I didn't sleep too well last night, but I'll try to stay awake for most of the Oscars to live blog a bit!

It's FINALLY Official! I guess this means that now I can get that jersey I've always wanted and NOT wonder if it's going to be obselete in a year or so (hint hint Mom and Dad)!

What a way to start the weekend...

Thursday, February 19, 2009

First of all, congratulations go out to my friend Sue and her husband, Pete, who welcomed their daughter Karley Sofia Cusato into the world today. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 10 oz and I couldn't be more excited for them! I only wish I had found out about it earlier so I could have stopped by the hospital after work! Maybe I'll have to take an extended lunch tomorrow or something instead!

Something I did not intend to get into this year, was American Idol. I don't watch all the auditions cause they irk me, and I didn't watch the first round of performances on Tuesday night either. However, I had read a lot about them on the internet on Wednesday, and last night when I got to my friend Amy's house before soccer, her husband was rooting for his favorite. I got completely sucked in and actually cared who went through (and yes, I was happy Tatiana has yet to make it)! So, I more than likely have too many shows to watch to watch the performance shows, but you don't need to!? I mean, they show the high and low lights just prior to booting people, so that's really all you need!

I JUST got finished watching Top Chef (SPOILERS AHEAD) and I thought it was a great episode! The last three booted chefs (Leah, Jeff and Jamie) went head to head in the quickfire for a spot in the elimination challenge. However, in order to continue on to the finale, they must WIN the elimination challenge. No pressure, right? Anyway, Jeff is the big winner and can feel the pressure from the get go. The elimination challenge consisted of the chefs catering a masquerade ball, where they had to prepare 2 dishes and a cocktail. The guest judge happened to be the King of New Orleans cuisine, Emeril Lagasse. All five chefs put out some great food, and the top three certainly was Carla, Jeff and Hosea. In what was probably one hell of an upset, Carla took the prize home with an oyster stew, winning a spot in the finale AND a brand new Toyota Venza! This was unfortunate for Jeff, especially since he did such a great job in the challenge. Hosea swiftly went on to the finale, leaving Stefan and Fabio in the bottom. Team Euro would be no more! Unfortunately, Fabio went home, even though the judges were far from impressed with Stefan's "laissez-faire" attitude. Hope he keeps it up through the finale next week! GO CARLA!!!

One more week of soccer, and I have to say I'm kind of glad. Our game was at 10 pm last night and that was a killer. We ended up losing 3-2 but it was a pretty good game... Until the other team got a little... violent! At one point I watched two women literally box Tre out of the goalie box. Another girl tripped her from behind, saying "she tripped herself" when Tre got the call (and subsequently scored a goal on the free kick). We definitely got pushed, but when we pushed back they were very whiny. Next week is it until September and while we won't have the whole team there, hopefully we can make a good effort on our last week.

On the way home from the game last night, Nikki asked us the words to "Rubber Duckie." As we were singing it to her, it reminded me of a funny story from Saturday night. Our family was playing Taboo and my aunt said "me and my ________." I instantly said "llama," a response that caused my entire family to look at me like I had three heads. Apparently none of them had seen Sesame Street, where the following first aired:

Anyway, thanks to Sandra for helping me find it, cause now the whole team realizes I'm not crazy. Yay!

So, in a very roundabout way (and a few times removed more than likely), I seem to be related to the lead singer (Ryder Lee) of the band, The Lost Trailers. My mom told me that his grandfather and my grandmother are first cousins. So, the band is up for two CMA Awards, one for Top New Vocal Group, an award which can be voted on by the fans. No, I've never met the guy and might never, but the least I can do is help him make his dreams come true. Go to their website to vote. You can vote once a day through March 5th, and tune in on April 5th to see how they do!

I agree with some of these, but others I don't think I'd be too thrilled with... at least not for MY bachelorette party!

So something weird was happening with my hair today, in that I let it dry too long and the too long piece in the back just... flipped itself out. It looked ridiculous but there was nothing I could do about it. Anyway, I was leaving the kitchen at work and trying to fix it in the glass of the snack machine when one of the attorneys came through the door and totally caught me. I knew he was laughing his ass off the minute I left the kitchen and I deserved it. I must have looked like a freak.

More news from The State: The two Michaels (Ian Black and Showalter) are getting a new show on Comedy Central, set to air in July.

Well.. we already know how much I adore Confessions of a Teen Idol.. Well this is kind of the "anti" teen idol show. I haven't had a chance to watch them all, but they are pretty short so they won't do too much to your attention span. There are some entertainin scenarios to go with hysterical cameos, so I say, give it a shot!

It's almost Friday and I'm TGIFing probably more than most. I think the Monday dress down day just screwed up the week hardcore! I mean, it's been ridiculously slow and I can only hope that tomorrow is different. Enjoy your weekend and if I'm home in time I'll do my best to live blog at least SOME of the Oscars!!

OK.. can't we just PRETEND it's kinda real?

So, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen are engaged. However, I'm just curious as to what is considered a "long-term" relationship these days. I mean, it's reported that Bilson is marrying her "long-time" boyfriend, Christensen. Um, they met on the set of Jumper, which came out in 2008, therefore, they probably didn't meet any time prior to 2006 if not later. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are a long-term relationship. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, not so much.

Angela Kinsey (who coincidentally plays Angela on The Office) has split from her husband, Warren Lieberstein (whose brother plays the always shit on Toby on The Office. However, her rep insists the break is friendly: "Angela and Warren are taking some time apart to figure out what is best for their relationship. They continue to be friends."

As if I needed another show to get into, High School Reunion on TVLand starts tonight. I'll be honest, I haven't seen the show since its first season on the WB, but I've seen about a bazillion commercials for it and it's kind of intrigued me. Luckily, they're playing it again after its 10 PM start time, cause I'm already taping Damages and Top Chef, which starts its two part finale tonight, spurred on by a double elimination by guest judge Emeril Lagasse.

Speaking of reality shows, last night I had the 9 pm hour free as I waited for my Real Housewives to start. As I cruised through the channels I found myself strangely compelled to watch VH1, which isn't normally a strange thing for me, however, Rupaul's Drag Race was on. Now, I've heard of this show, but I don't think I get the LOGO channel, so I've obviously never seen it. Well, thank you VH1 for showing at least one episode. I got completely sucked in and had to watch to the bitter end to find out which queen lost the lip synch battle for his life. (I'll give you a hint: The queen who lost both his headdress and his fake boobs is still in the running).

And then there's my Real Housewives. I think the ending was a little anticlimactic. I mean, the end of summer party scene lasted WAY too long for me, but I always enjoy when they tell you what they've been up to and I'm really looking forward to the reunion show next week. A lot of dirt was thrown this season and I'm curious to see how some of the ladies justify their words and/or actions. Sorry C. Howe, but I think Vicki needs a good slap, although I'm glad she finally realized her kids aren't kids anymore. Poor Brianna... she really did get her heart broken by Colby and I'm actually glad she's rethinking her whole Army thing cause as much as she said she wasn't doing it because Colby kicked her to the curb, the timing was a bit shady. I have yet to see all of the NYC episode, but it sure did start off with a bang, with Jill slamming Simon in the press. Of course, she insists her words were taken out of context, but I have to admit that I kind of agree with her! I can't wait to watch the whole thing!

Last night I looked up Jacobs Field (in Cleveland) online, only to find it had been newly christened Progressive Field. I was telling Bill how stupid I thought that was, when he told me that the basketball arena is called "the Q." He THEN told me it was short for Quicken Load Arena. I'm sorry, but that just sounds dirty and I honestly can't say it with a straight face.

That's all I've got on today's post-it. I've gotta get a move on, as I have a 10 pm soccer game tonight. Luckily, we have A sub, which is one better than we've had probably the last three games. We beat this team the last time we played them, however they've been on a tear as of late so hopefully we can end their streak. Wish me luck and pray my quad is back to normal!

This is going to be a baseball laden post, so I hope you're prepared. It IS that time of year after all!

The MLB Power Rankings were released and the O's are NOT in last place, so that's something! They are ranked 24th out of 30 teams, and of course, the last team in the AL East. Well, it's not like we were expecting big things this year, right? I can't lie, I kind of am. We're not terrible on paper and I'm hoping we're this years Tampa Bay Rays... maybe we should add to our team name. The Rays dropped "Devil," maybe we should pick it up!

Someone is looking for a comeback and in doing so, hoping to emulate his idol, Satchel Paige. All I can say is best of luck Oil Can!

Jeremy Guthrie will be pitching for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. Guthrie is the fave to start Opening Day for the O's and will hopefully share the honor with another O or two on Team USA!

Hopefully there'll be some good news for B-Rob this week..

So today I was trading geeky web sites and chatting about Heroes and Dollhouse with Bill, when we got into a conversation about how cheap it is to take the train from Albany/Hudson to Cleveland. Time consuming, but way cheaper than flying. Anyway, I looked at the O's schedule and found out they are playing in Cleveland in late September over a weekend. I've never been to Jacobs Field (or Progressive Field as it's now known.. whatever) so I thought it'd be cool to go there. I mean, I'm not dating anyone at the moment, but I guess that could get awkward. I mean, we're just friends and have been for at least five years, but I guess if my boyfriend went to visit his ex for a ball game or three, I'd be a little jealous. But like I said, if I don't have a boyfriend at the time of planning the trip, should I feel guilty about it? I'm not saying it's going to happen, but it'd kind of be a cool opportunity!

Here's one for all the white kids...

Been a slow week for me in many ways. I'm gonna take my headache to bed and stay up for as much of the Real Housewives as I can take! Get ready for the hump day, and some not so great weather apparently!

It was kind of excruciating going to work today, but at least it was a dress down day and traffic was pretty light!

I skipped my Weight Watchers weigh in last week cause I thought I'd been kind of a bad girl. I didn't feel like I had done wonderful this week, especially since I didn't work out all week, thanks to my bum quad. Well, I was VERY pleasantly surprised to find out I lost 4.4 pounds, bringing my grand total to 11.4 pounds since January 12th. Honestly, the last time I did WW I didn't lose too much this soon and I got very deterred, so I'm feeling pretty good about it so far. So good that when I went to Applebee's tonight for dinner with friends, instead of getting the WW menu, I got a quesadilla burger instead. And it was GOOD! What made it even better is that they screwed it up the first time, so I got my meal for free! Food always tastes better when you don't have to pay for it, doesn't it?

So tonight I had dinner with my friends Sarah and Erin. We used to dance together and I've known them both for years. Anyway, Erin suggested having dinner and while we hadn't gotten together in a while, for some reason I thought there was a reason behind the invite, and I was right. Erin wanted to tell Sarah and I in person that she's pregnant, and due in June! She and her husband have been together since high school, so we've basically just been waiting for them to be ready to have kids. They already know it's a girl and are both very excited about becoming parents, so congratulations to both of them! Dinner was great and now I can no longer fault Erin for being tired after a hard day of teaching!

I am a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory, and I found this article very entertaining.

I don't know how your Valentine's Day went, but mine consisted of having some drinks and playing board games with my family. My cousin Lindsey's birthday was Sunday (as was my half birthday) and my cousin Jimmy recently got engaged, so we used our lack of anything better to do on Valentine's Day as an excuse to celebrate everything. My sister and I then went out with Lindsey to help celebrate her b'day. Here are a few pics:

The cousins and their significant others

They were just showing what they look like when they get drunk. I hope they don't get sued like Miley did!
Lindsey and her cousins from both sides.. at least the ones that can drink legally!

I watched the movie "Stay" last night. Yes, I watched it with someone and I am happy to say he didn't get it either. If anyone wants to explain it to me, go ahead. I have my theories, but all in all, I simply didn't understand it, so I'd have to say I'm not a big fan. Not one of my favorite Netflix choices.

Rumors are that Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia are no longer a couple. Yeah, I can't say I'm shocked if that's the case. A 12 year age difference (especially with her being so young) is kind of a big deal.. and kind of creepy considering he playes her uncle on Heroes.
I got some great deals at Macy's this weekend so shop the President's Weekend sale if you can! I got two pairs of Liz Claiborne jeans for $36, not to mention three shirts and a pair of pants for $50. For what I got I definitely should have spent a hell of a lot more money so I can't complain.

Be prepared for the season finale of The Real Housewives of Orange County and the season premiere of The Real Housewives of NYC tomorrow night. Looks like some shit will surely hit the fan!!

Confessions of a Teen Idol ends this weekend and I'm definitely going to have to tape it earlier in the day, as the Oscars are going to force me to miss it when it plays at night. I have to admit, I really want them all to make it and I'm strangely attracted to Hobie (yes.. I know that's not his name but to me, he'll always be Hobie) and am starting to think David Chokachi might not want to keep biting the hand that feeds him. He's a tad full of himself. Don't get me wrong, I still like him, but he could be a little more... thankful. As for our friend Bret Michaels, I still don't understand why he keeps Brittanya around. I don't think he's ever even had a conversation with her considering "she's shy." Um.. no, she's brain dead, not shy. Yet she made it through another week so good for her. As much as she got on my nerves in the beginning, I can't help but laugh my ass off at Ashley. Some of the shit she says seriously cracks me up and she could actually win Bret's heart with her skankaliciousness. I'm still rooting for Beverley but she might be a bit too.. normal. I mean, he's picked the more normal girl both times and it's gotten him nowhere but a sluttified tour bus. I mean.. if that's your thing, that's cool. I watch it every week like clock work so I guess I shouldn't throw stones, right?

Anyhoo.. that's all I've got. I'm hoping to see "He's Just Not That Into You" tomorrow night, so if I do, I'll let you know what I think. Hope those of you that had one enjoyed your day off and I'll catch ya later!

Ok, screw Joaquin, this is a bigger WTF?

I think my favorite part of the article might be "the girl was taking birth control pills, but she missed one." Call me crazy, but that's one fertile girl if she was taking B/C pills on a regular basis and only missed one and got pregnant. Um.. double up the next day sweetheart! That's how it works!

My second favorite part is this: "Alfie's father, Dennis — who reportedly has nine children — said his son told him it was the first time he had sex. He was reportedly allowed to sleep over at the girl's house."

I'm not a parent, but I certainly hope I have a little more discretion when my time comes!
I really hope all this is a joke, cause if not, there are some issues to be attacked in therapy:

It has been a REALLY bad week for ex-O's steroid abusers. First Tejada and now my favorite player that spits at umpires, Roberto Alomar.

Seriously? Looking like Joba Chamberlain got him laid? This is an example of what happens when people screw someone just because of their name... and a not so cute someone at that.

Speaking of ugly, Mandy Moore is engaged to Ryan Adams.. I bet she's attracted to his talent..

I know, I shouldn't be calling people ugly, but I'm single on Valentine's Day and I have the right to be slightly bitter. It's what we do..

We're in the finals of Top Chef (and thankfully Leah went, albeit a week too late), so eventually we'll have another show to whet our appetite.

It's finally official! Rescue Me returns to FX on April 7th and will get me through the summer, with the season finale airing on September 8th. I'm also happy to say that the show has already been picked up for an 18 episode 6th season. Now if only I could get them all on DVD. I think it's the only show (besides Sports Night) that I really feel like I need to own in its entirety.

The pairs for Dancing with the Stars have been announced and they are as follows (and not quite what I thought they'd be):

• Former NFL star Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska
• Actor Gilles Marini and two-time DWTS champ Cheryl Burke
• Rapper Lil’ Kim and season seven champ Derek Hough
• Actress Denise Richards and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
• Pop star Belinda Carlisle and Jonathan Roberts
• Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and season six champ Mark Ballas
• Reality star Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer
• Rodeo star Ty Murray and first-time Dancing pro Chelsie Hightower
• Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak and Karina Smirnoff
• Country singer Chuck Wicks and two-time champ Julianne Hough
• Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell and Tony Dovolani
• Actor David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson
• Singer Jewel and first-time Dancing pro Dmitry Chaplin

Ok... first of all, we all know how much I LOATHE Karina Smirnoff, but good lord that girl sure does get the shit end of the stick with partners, doesn't she? I'm afraid I won't be able to cheer for my favorite girl, Edyta Sliwinksa though. I wish they'd put Karina with Lawrence Taylor and then all would be well in my world. I'm REALLY excited about Chelsie Hightower and Dmitry Chaplin coming on as pro's. What can I say? I'm a So You Think You Can Dance geek and I adored Chelsie so much. Dmitry was on the first season that I've actually never seen in its entirety, but if I recall, he's kinda hot and that always helps. I feel a little bad for Chuck Wicks, as he's gonna get his ass kicked by his own girlfriend who has a pretty good track record on the show. And finally, my girl Lacey. I don't think she'll have as much luck with Steve-O as she did with Lance Bass. I mean.. the gays watch DWTS. I'm pretty sure the Jackasses do not!

Happy Birthday to my friend Amy, who's hopefully basking in the Arizona sun on this lovely Valentine's Day! Tonight we're doing a family V-Day/B-Day get together, as my cousin and her man are in town from Florida and tomorrow is my cousin Lindsey's birthday. That, and it seems very few of the family had real V-day plans... So instead we'll probably just eat pizza, drink beer and make fun of each other instead. Ah... family! :)

I no longer know what to believe.

Wish I had more to report on my life, but unfortunately, that's not the case... At least not yet. Therefore, enjoy your V-day and your weekend (and for you teachers, your winter break you bastards), while I catch up on my TV watching!

Thursday, February 12, 2009

Well, I thought my quad was feeling better. Apparently I thought wrong. It was ok the first half, I tweaked it a little, but that was to be expected. In the second half I went to kick the ball, and that was basically it. At one point it hurt so bad that I actually went down to my knees and whimpered, much like a dog would. Then I heard "well don't kick with that foot if you know it's gonna hurt." You're right. I TOTALLY kicked with that foot on purpose. I then hurled obscenities at my sister while the other team gawked until someone said "don't worry, they're sisters." We lost 4-2, but we played pretty well... the first half. I don't know what happened after that as I was too busy thinking about which foot to kick with. I'm thankful that I have a week to recover instead of three days.

I don't know if anyone remembers last year's face swelling incident but it was allegedly brought on by my allergy to red dye #40. At least that seemed to the most logical explanation. Anyway, I've had a lot of trouble with my lips in the last few months. They've been really dry and there are times when they get tingly. It's kind of freaked me out but the best I could do was throw some Aquaphor on and call it a day. I was a little bored at work today (ok.. A LOT bored) and I happened to look at the gum I'd been chewing for.. months (the brand, not the actual piece of gum) and I realized that it has red dye #40 in it. Therefore, I now have to wonder if the red dye is what's making my lips all tingly and sometimes slightly swollen. I certainly hope so, however it's forced me to wonder if any of my lipsticks or anything have that dye in it as well. I assume it's a food dye and wouldn't be, but you never know. I tried to find the information online, but it was to no avail.

I booked a cruise on Tuesday and I couldn't be more happy about it! One of our friends from softball has begun a career as a travel agent, and she let Tre and I know about this great week long cruise to the Caribbean for next February. Yes, it's a year from now, but at least that gives me a very long time to save up for it... and find a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico!

I have a very full post-it, however my computer is being a bitch and not allowing any normal web site to show up, so it kind of defeats the purpose to try to link to things I can no longer find. If today is any indication of how tomorrow will be, I should have plenty of time to link to my hear's content!

It's almost time for the big Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice crossover so I need to go so I can concentrate. TGIF!!!

NOTE: This post SHOULD have been posted last night, but my computer was being bitchy and wouldn't post it.. FYI - Grey's and Private Practice.. worth watching...

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Once again, I'm icing my quad, hoping to get it ready for tomorrow night's game. My intention was to leave work early tomorrow to go to a class at my friend's gym, but that's not going to happen. Apparently the personal trainer who runs the class is pretty tough, so with my quad being the way it is, I think I'll wait another week!

So, A-Rod has admitted to using steroids. Honestly, I'm not all that surprised. I'm sure (and I hope) there are lots of MLB stars that don't and haven't used 'roids, but in the pre-testing era why wouldn't you at least dabble? I'm not condoning said behavior, just saying why wouldn't you give it a shot if no one cared or was going to catch you!? To go along with that, charges are being pressed against Miguel Tejada for lying to Congress regarding an ex-teammate's steroid use.

I believe I mentioned this the other day but now Ty Wigginton is officially an Oriole. YAY! :)

Believe it or not, I did watch part of Barack Obama's speech last night, mainly cause I was hoping he'd be nice enough to give me an exact date so I know when to expect my check/direct deposit. He didn't. However, I did spend that time thinking "I really wish he'd just read his speeches verbatim, cause he's not the greatest speaker when he goes off script." I mean, I've heard him speak before and I thought he was just fine, but when he answers questions and tries to go off on his own it felt a little.. well.. trainwrecky. Also, apparently he's got this kick ass, young speechwriter, who just so happens to share his name with one of my faves, Jon Favreau.

And oh yeah.. Barack's speech TOTALLY screwed up my Monday night of DVRing.. You don't mess with a girl's DVR schedule.

I don't know if you've heard, but Chris Brown is a douche.. I'll still listen to his songs, but I'll curse myself while doing it.

I've heard a lot about it, but last night was the first time I've ever watched Hoosiers. I've heard great things about it, but never really had the chance to watch it. I'm a big fan of the sports movie, but somehow this one never made it into my VCR. I thought it was a pretty good flick. Kind of predictable, but that's how a sports movie is made! I mean.. no one wants to cheer for the bad guy, am I right? EVERYONE loves an underdog!

I skipped my WW weigh in yesterday cause I was a BAD girl last week, and I might have to fall off the wagon a bit this week, thanks to this.. Not since the McGriddle have I seen such a breakfast fantasy.

Stars leaving Grey's? Again.. not shocked. I mean.. Izzie has been talking to a dead guy all season and I can't remember the last time I saw George do anything substantial.

I totally forgot about this, but WTF is up with Jamie getting booted from Top Chef and not Leah?! I mean.. seriously!? I watched the episode and no, Jamie's dish wasn't great, but neither was Leah's and I would think past performance would have SOMETHING to do with it! I'm soooo pissed. I adore Jamie and really liked watching her on the show, especially to see her get into it with Stephan. As much as he irks me, he also cracks me up! Let's take bets on whether Leah will be gone this week..

Monday, February 09, 2009

After last week's soccer game (that the entire team has insisted didn't happen), we were determined to get a win by any means necessary. We decided dinner at Beff's would be the appropriate way to begin the evening. It sure was a good idea.. the food was awesome and the conversations entertaining. By the time we made it to the game, most of our bellies were full, some a little TOO full if you know what I mean! Still, everyone was ready to go, or so we thought. Mere minutes into the first half I went to kick a ball and felt a terrible stretch up my quad. Unfortunately, it was only going to get worse and I ended up leaving the game in the beginning of the second half, never to come back! I was disappointed, but we ended up winning 1-0. Our goalie kicked some major ass and they were actually a good team to play against. Not too bitchy and only slightly pushy! So, hopefully this means we're on a roll and will continue to play well again on Wednesday.

Big news today is that Chris Brown turned himself into police (and missed the Grammys) over an alleged domestic battery charge, the victim behing his girlfriend, Rihanna, who also missed the Grammys. He was let go on $50,000 bail and could be facing further charges. I have a feeling this might ruin his "good guy, teeny-bopper" reputation, don't you?

The new cast for Dancing with the Stars has been revealed and I'm slightly looking forward to it. I think there'll be some interesting dynamics: Julianne Hough, who said she wasn't coming back this season, has returned to dance with her boyfriend, country singer Chuck Wicks. Jewel and husband Ty Herndon will be competing against each other (supposedly partnered by real life couple Maksim and Karina), not to mention my favorite train wreck, Denise Richards. Other competitors include Lawrence Taylor (who I will NOT be voting for, thanks to an autograph snub at Disney World a very long time ago.. grudges.. I hold them), Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, Steve-O of Jackass fame, David Alan Grier, Steve Wozniak (I wish he were still dating Kathy Griffin.. I'd love it if she showed up for some more fun!), Nancy O'Dell, Belinda Carlisle, Lil Kim (at least we know she's not afraid to wear.. well.. nothing) and Gilles Marini, best known for playing Samantha's mostly naked neighbor in the SATC movie. It's an interesting cast, but I'm not sure who'll be the breakout star. Damnit.. now I really do have to watch it again. I was so planning on cutting back.

This is an actual email conversation I had today with my friend (and ex boyfriend) Bill:
K: Pulled my quad playing soccer last night, so my big plans are to ice my quad and sit under my snuggie. Yep, I said it.. my snuggie.
B: How are those snuggies? Do you wear it outside the house like in the TV ads?
K: I do NOT wear it out of the house, but I do love it. It's very convenient for getting your soda or the remote while staying under the blanket. The sleeves on mine are kind along though.
B: So do you even wear clothes under it? And Why would you wear it outside? I mean you didn't want to ge the thing wet/dirty and then lay on your couch.
K: YES you wear clothes underneath it! It's basically a blanket.. it just has sleeves.. I guess you could wear it at a sporting event to keep you warm or something, but I personally wouldn't!
B: I am going to get one and wear it shopping.
K: Please take pictures

I believe he went on to say he would wear it out on dates, to which I replied that he would surely get laid while wearing a snuggie. I mean.. what girl can turn down a guy who buys her dinner AND keeps her warm?

He also told me about this website, where you take a quiz and it tells you the top 24 places you should live. My top two were Norfolk, VA and Oklahoma City, OK. I'm happy to say Baltimore DID make the list!

Time for me to go.. I have to finish watching Hoosiers and ice down my quad so I'm ready for Wednesday's game. I'm hoping to basically numb it into submission.

Sunday, February 08, 2009

It's been a crazy busy week, so I'll try to condense everything that's been going on as quickly and easily as I can so you at least know why I've been so incommunicado this week!
On Monday night I changed my facebook status to single. Yep.. perhaps I was the last to know (well.. not the last to know, but one of the final to admit it), but J and I are over and I think I'm actually the one who did the breaking up. I don't know... When someone just doesn't have the time or inclination to call you back, even when you spent 2 and a half years of your life with them, that's a pretty good indication that not being with them anymore is the right thing to do! Hell, we've been breaking up for months as it is so I've had plenty of time to come to terms with its demise and I'm all good.
I went to dinner with my friend Christie on Monday night also. I met her at Applebee's after work and we both noshed on one of their Weight Watchers approved meals. It was a chicken breast meal with potatoes and broccoli (which obviously I didn't eat) but the rest of it was good and I wasn't completely starving afterwards! I haven't seen her in probably about a year, and it was so great to catch up with her and just shoot the shit.

Tuesday morning I walked into work to find two very attractive men installing a door onto mine and my co-worker's cubby. That is NOT a bad way to start your day! It did however, cause everyone and their mother to stop by and ask a million questions about it. It's a door.. a door we barely close and I think it's hysterical the big deal that's being made of it and now I just want to close it out of spite. I can be vindictive that way.
Tuesday afternoon I went to lunch with my friend Jeff. We used to dance together but after he got married we kind of grew apart a bit. He works down the street from me so we went to Panera for lunch and it definitely wasn't enough time to catch up! I was so glad to spend time with him and I hope we get the chance to do it again very soon, not just because of the company, but also because I really had a great lunch at Panera!

Wednesday night was soccer, and the only way to describe it is was an absolute trainwreck. I think we got beat 7-0 and we looked like preschoolers. No one could get the ball anywhere near the goal. We only had just enough people to play and I have to admit, I was absolutely exhausted! I'm still sore from all the running I did in that game and I have to do it again tonight, as we have a make up game from when it snowed last week. One of our girls is sick, another is away and another is sore. Yes.. only two of those excuses are valid. Hopefully tonight won't be anywhere near as bad as Wednesday's game. We plan on going out to dinner beforehand so maybe that'll be the motivation we need to win, cause we're not doing much of THAT lately!

Thursday night we went to dinner for my Dad's birthday, which was Wednesday. Well.. we tried. My parents were at my Mom's aunt's house and we were meeting them at Pomodoro's in Catskill. They hadn't called by 7:45, so we left, figuring we'd all get there around the same time. Tre and I were SOOOOO wrong. We got there around 8:00 and my parents finally showed up somewhere around 9:00. I was STARVING, so much so that I didn't even care if I ate something that I shouldn't have! I got a great grilled chicken sandwich and then went home to bed!!

Friday night was bowling, where I didn't have a great night. I had fun hanging out afterwards for a bit, yet still managed to get home at a decent hour and get a good night's sleep. I needed it in order to rev me up for what was to come on Saturday. I walked for an hour on the treadmill and I also FINALLY did my new Jillian Michaels workout DVD. The warm up went fine, but in the first five minutes I really thought I wasn't going to make it. Apparently I am way more out of shape than I had initially thought. I think I'm supposed to do it every day, however today was completely out of the question! Later on we met the softball team out for some cosmic bowling. We had such a great time! My sister bowled 299... Unreal. Honestly, I'm glad she didn't hit 300 cause it would have been such a waste! I mean, it still would have been amazing but it wouldn't have been sanctioned so really there would have been no recognition for it. She's bowled so well this year it'll only be a matter of time before she gets it! Anyway, here are a few pictures to prove what a good time we had:

Shoes and I
The Nytransky cousins and their kick ass scoresFish busted out the jazz hands to get a good score!
Here are some of the things from my industrial size post-it this week:
Christian Bale FREAKED on the set of the new Terminator flick, and I have to admit, it kinda cracked me up to listen to it. And yes.. EVERYTHING sounds better with a Huey Lewis soundtrack! Get over it Christian. You're making a Terminator movie, not an Oscar worthy tear jerker! I would think you'd be able to manage to "stay in the scene."
After too long of a hiatus, Reaper is set to return on March 3rd, which thankfully is NOT a
Thursday, as my DVR is already jammed up on Thursdays!
Kendra Wilkinson, by far the funniest Girl Next Door, will star in her own reality show. She might not be the only girl next door to get their own show, but she's the first so far!
Ok.. sometimes even Peyton Manning makes mistakes..
It looks like there'll be another Sex and the City movie to come..
All I can say about this is "huh?"
I have to give my O's some credit. They may not be signing the huge names, but at least they're signing.. I mean, NOT Brian Roberts yet (No, I'm not bitter at all.. why would you say that?) but they are taking steps in the right direction.
Also, apparently Michael Phelps smoked a little weed. I'm really shocked at the big deal that's been made of this. He's won like.. a bazillion Olympic medals and that picture was taken quite a while after that, so give him a break for blowing off some steam. He's still (kinda) a kid and is occassionally going to act like one.
Ok, I'd write more, but I've got a few things to do before the soccer game and there's an America's Next Top Model marathon on. I have priorities..

I never expected this, but I think I'm officially in love with my snuggie.

Yes, it's true. My mom got Tre and I each one, and I've been on the couch all day. If I had already showered, I would take a picture of me wearing it right now while I'm typing... yet still under a blanket. Good God, whoever invented the snuggie is a genius!! I admit, the first time I saw the commercial I thought it was ridiculous, but I'm now a full believer. Seriously.. get yourself a snuggie.

Let's pretend people read this blog on a regular basis, if only to make me feel bad for not posting and to prove to my mom that people do read this and I don't just have nothing better to do. On that note, I apologize for not having a chance to post this week. My nights have been extremely busy (and by nights I mean EVENINGS.. Get your mind out of the gutter) forcing blogging to be waylaid by TV, bad soccer playing and catching up on DVR'd shows via treadmill. I have a HUGE post-it with tons of notes on it, so I'll try to catch up this weekend, if any of the my notes are still relevant.
