Every time I hear the song "Right Now" by Van Halen, I can't help but sing it incorrectly. On the first season of Road Rules, one of the gang's challenges was to be roadies at a Van Halen concert (if memory serves me correctly) and that's when this song was really popular so instead of singing Hey... it's your tomorrow," Kit sang "Hey... the winnie's a mess" and that's what I always think of. (For you non-Road Rules fans - winnie means the winnebago they travelled in). God I loved MTV when their shows were really about strangers living with strangers and not strangers getting drunk and banging other strangers. And yes... I really do have a lot of useless information in my head, thanks for asking.
It's been a busy couple of days, to say the least, and it looks like there won't be any end in sight in the near future.

I finally had a free weekend, and J was away, so I got more sleep than normal, which was a nice change. I also watched the first two discs of Mad Men, Season 1. It's an interesting show and I've enjoyed watching it. It's a little slow and since I read an article about it in Entertainment Weekly, I know what's coming, so I'm going to stick with it. I should get the next two discs today but lord knows when I'll have the time to watch it. The show just started it's new season on Sunday, so I still have time to catch up.

Tre and I went to see Mamma Mia on Saturday night and I really enjoyed it! Amanda Seyfried was really great and Meryl Streep was WAY better than I expected her to be (singing wise.. I mean.. obviously she's a great actress but who knew she could sing at all? I even found myself kind of crushing on Pierce Brosnan... Grrrr.. I would have enjoyed it more if these two queens (don't get mad at me my gay friends.. if you knew who it was, you would have said the same thing) talked through the whole movie and two teenage girls had a sing along on the other side of me. I swear, people that talk in movies is my biggest pet peeve. I don't understand the concept of shelling out way too much to see a movie, then talking through it. Regardless, it was very good and if you haven't seen it yet, stay through the credits.

Last night, J and I went to see Step Brothers. I really didn't expect much from it, but I admit, it was pretty funny! The last few Will Ferrell movies (since Anchorman really) have been pretty lame so I didn't think this would be much better, but I knew J wanted to see it and I had pretty much seen everything else I wanted to see at this point. He laughed his ass off and there were a few really funny lines that I wish I could remember. Just be warned, it IS R-rated, so there are MANY swear words, dick jokes and vulgar words. Still, if you like to laugh and enjoy the comedy stylings of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, it's not a waste of your time and money.

Monday night I went for a walk with my cousin, and a brand new tub of Roasted Cinnamon ice cream was just put out at the ice cream place. What a night huh? Who knew it would get better? I came home and Tre was going through her cd's and we were listening to them all to see what songs were on them. We ended up both laughing our ass off over some of them (Clay Aiken) and making a list of songs to download. I swear, the list was the front and back of a whole sheet of paper, with songs like Last Resort by Papa Roach and Saturday (Oooh Ooooh) by Ludacris. Tons of songs we had totally forgotten about, as who listens to CD's anymore?! I mean, some of them were from 2001. Tre is in the midst of making a mega mix for Saturday's party, so it'll be fun to hear some of the stuff we didn't expect!

Another celebrity couple is expecting twins. Seriously, what's in the Hollywood water!?

Thank goodness this story isn't true!

If you missed Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, you can catch it for free on Hulu.

This story is for my friend Jen in Vermont. I don't know how it could happen, but I wouldn't mind if it did.

Ball game tonight and half a day of work tomorrow before my doctor's appointment. Then I'm off until Monday.. Woo hoo! Lots of work to do though, to get the house ready for the 5th Annual Nytropalooza on Saturday. Pray for nice weather and hump 'em if you got 'em ;)!
The O's have won THREE straight, 2 of those games against the Yanks and one on a Sunday! I'm as shocked as you are. This strange turn of events can only mean one thing.... something bad's a coming.. the trade deadline is only a day away (roughly) and I have very bad feelings. No rumors have surfaced yet, but it could only be a matter of time. Please don't take my B-Rob away!

Last night, Tre, her friend Mike, J and I went to Joe's for wings, as our softball game was cancelled and we had no clue what to do. The answer: Beer and cheap wings! So, apparently there was a spy there, and shortly after I got a text from my ex, Jason, asking if J was there with me. I told him he was but hey, it's a free place! Anyway, he walked in shortly after and OH MY GOD... let's just say he's been working out. I'm sure he only came in while I was there to show off and see the look on my face, and I have a feeling he got just what he was looking for cause I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped to the floor.

After we left Joe's, there was an unsuccessful trip to Wal-Mart (J isn't so good with the surprises and is getting me Rock Band for my birthday - He heard they had it for cheap at Wal-Mart so we tried to find it, to no avail). Instead, we played the Wii Fit that J had left at my house. I swear, the four of us played that game for like.. three hours. I've never laughed so hard in my entire life and we were all sweating! You have no idea how much it hurts to hula hoop for three minutes. The last time I did it, J made me do it for three minutes on each side, as opposed to the three minutes total everyone else did last night. Thank god, cause I thought my hips were going to fall off. I'm pretty good at the ski jump, but it was really the balance bubble that kept everyone entertained for hours on end. Except me. I passed out on the couch around 11. It was a school night.

No big weekend plans. Tre and I want to see Mamma Mia and now that she likes it, we'll probably play more Wii Fit. I just hope to get through the first two discs of Mad Men, that I got from Netflix. The show starts on Sunday so I can't be caught up by then, but I should be halfway there! Enjoy your weekend and pray the last couple minutes of this day go by quickly!!!

And the saga continues: My mom is a little nervous about this whole ocular migraine thing, mainly because when I had the first one, I lost peripheral vision and we've been hearing about a lot of people my age or slightly older having slight strokes. Freaky, right? Yeah, so my mom had me go to the opthamologist (sp?) this morning. Anyway, we do the tests, they numb my eyes to do a pressure test and dilate them. This was almost four hours ago. I still look stoned.. not as stoned as I did around noon, but stoned just the same. Anyway, they had to repeat one of my tests a few times and the first thing the Dr. says is that I need glasses. To which I reply "so all that money I spent on Lasik was a waste?" She laughed and smiled and said that my right eye is substantially weaker than my left eye, the cornea is strangely shaped and I have an astigmatism. Basically, my right eyes strains to see the things my left eye has no problem seeing. So, it's not like I'm going blind or anything, but it'd probably be helpful to me to wear glasses when I'm on the computer, reading, etc. I don't care so much, as just prior to the Lasik procedure I got a really cute pair of frames. It'd be nice to see them put to good use! However, I still should make an appointment with my old optician to see what he has to say. They also want to do a field vision (glaucoma) test on me AND see my primary care physician. My plate is going to be pretty full for the next couple of weeks, thanks to some squiggly lines in my vision. And oh yeah.. I have ocular migraines..

My friend Tim is in town and stopped over to my house last night. I had already washed my face and was settling in for my Wednesday night TV viewing, but Tim wouldn't take no for an answer (he never really does). It was really great to catch up with him, but I was so beat and really just wanted to go to bed, as my eyes were pretty sore. He didn't leave until 11:30 and I felt terrible because I know the relief was evident when he finally did mosey out the door. Luckily, he has a thick skin! Nothing personal of course, I was just exhausted. He has a lot of personality! :) Still, he entertained me as usual and while I wasn't really feeling up to having a few beers with him, we had fun anyway. I might have even convinced him that So You Think You Can Dance is not "the bad reality tv." Maybe..

My sweet little Wesley got canned from Project Runway! I shall miss his jaunty shorts... but I will not miss the nasty dress he made. It could NOT have been more ill fitted, and he basically in front of Natalie Portman, guest judge. Poor Wesley..

Well, not sure yet if I have a ball game tonight, but I kinda hope I don't. My eyes aren't back to normal yet from being dilated and having balls flying at my face isn't high on my priority list (insert dirty joke here). Enjoy your Thursday night!

Sometimes I realize it's not a bad thing to live in a small town.... Case in point: J and I went to see The Dark Knight at the new Colonie Center Regal Cinemas last night. We got there around 6:45 and the 7:00 and 7:30 shows were sold out, leaving us to catch the 8:00 show. The tickets are $10 per person (how do parents take their kids to the movies these days?) and thankfully, with my Regal Crown Club Card, I managed to get a free small soda and small popcorn. I upgraded to medium size for only $.50 each. THAT was the high point. We had some time to kill, so we ventured on over to FYE where I purchased Kathy Griffin: For Your Consideration and J picked out a few comedy CDs and lord knows what crappy horror movie he could get for crazy cheap. Anyway, around 7:20 I thought it'd be a good idea to get back to the theater so we could get good seats. BIG mistake. We walked in and the theater was already jammed, with no seats on the good viewing level (ya know.. EYE level), so we ended up having to sit about four rows back in front of the biggest movie screen I've ever seen. If my eyes didn't hate me yesterday, today I'm pretty much the Devil. Luckily, the lower level seats are also on an incline so it could have been way worse. That, and the 8:00 show was also sold out (so the movie gods said) and asked everyone to smush into the center. No one really did and it worked out just fine, so sold out must not mean the same to them as it does to me.

Let's get to the good part: BATMAN! I have to say, I really enjoyed the movie. The effects are awesome and the plot takes more from the graphic novel than the old school Batman comics. We even got to see a trailer for the new movie, Watchmen, coming out in March. I'm not a big fan of the graphic novels, but this looked interesting. I have PLENTY of time to read it before it comes out, so I'm not concerned. Anyway, let's talk about Heath Ledger. I was determined not to like his portrayal of the Joker, just because I'm so sick of all the posthumous Oscar talk. I mean, if he were alive would there be all this hype!? We'll never know. Still, I have to admit he was really great. I mean.. I've heard he really immersed himself into the role, but he changed every single thing about himself for it. Let's just say, he sure as hell could have had a worse swan song! There's lots of carnage and twists and turns along the way, but it never once feels like you've been sitting in a movie theater for two and a half hours. Thank you Christopher Nolan for once again proving Batman can be more than a hot guy in a suit with nipples on it. And thank you Christian Bale, for being the hot guy in the nippleless suit... Grrrr.. Now you all know how much I loved Dawson's Creek, but Maggie Gyllenhaal was a far more believable Rachel than Katie Holmes. I don't know if it's just the look, but I believed her in the role a lot more. Very strange, but good!

In other news, Brett Favre is a moron...

One week in and they're already doing the dirty on Big Brother... (I know it says Ollie and ALLISON are doing it, but it's April.) Why do people insist on having sex on national television. You're on a show where there are cameras everywhere and you think you're stealth enough to have sex with no one seeing it? Oh, the preacher and his wife are NOT going to be thrilled with their son, that's for sure!

My eyes hurt... hump away the rest of your day and get ready for the gay trifecta of reality tv: So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway and Shear Genius... and oh yeah.. someone gets booted from Big Brother tonight. Have a good one!

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

I've been having blurred vision and headaches the last two days, and instead of hitting up the ER and wasting $50 and a shit load of time, my mom called my doctor. He seems to think they're ocular migraines and even suffers from them himself. I guess I shouldn't bitch.. I'd much rather have blurry vision for an hour or so instead of being unable to function! Hopefully now I'll stop getting jokes about how I might have bird flu or something... If you don't get that.. see yesterday's post.

TERRIBLE NEWS: Estelle Getty has died at the age of 84. She's best known for playing Sophia Petrillo on the Golden Girls but had been suffering from dementia for the last few years. It's a sad day for TV, that's for sure!

I just can't believe this one is real. He's Batman for Christ's sake..

Speaking of Batman, J and I are going to see The Dark Knight tonight. I'm really excited. We're going to see it at the new theaters at Colonie Center. It's going to cost an arm and a leg but there are certain movies you need to see on a grand scale and I'm pretty sure this is one of them. J said the seats are even better than Crossgates so I'm curious to see how it compares.

I watched "Date My Ex: Jo and Slade." I admit it... However, am I the only one in the world that is pretty sure all this dating is just a ploy by Bravo to make them both realize how much they love each other and should be together? I mean, I'm friends with lots of my exes, but this is a little ridiculous.... so of course I'll keep tuning in. Still, she deserves to NOT find love, as last night's pick was a total Hollywood douchebag. He took her on a helicopter ride over LA. If this show is supposed to prove Jo's NOT only interested in men with money, this was not the way to start.

Jessie won HOH on Big Brother and WOW... is he a jackass.. I can't wait till his all natural ass gets booted off the show (obviously not this week). He put up Dan (for being friends with Brian) and Steven (mainly because Steven didn't come see his HOH room... crybaby). I hope either one of them wins the POV and forces Jessie to put someone else up, although it'll probably be Angie, another Brian supporter. I loved how he allowed himself to be played by his "group." For example: He was dead set on putting Renny up cause... well.. he hates her. But "the group" was against it and thought she should stay and what does he do? Exactly what they want... So to quote Steven: Jessie is a tool.

Oh, the mortification:

So, Saturday morning all eight of us girls are sitting on the beach, having a good time. Some were playing in the sub zero temperatures of the Atlantic Ocean, others laying on towels or sitting on chairs, trying to soak up some sun. I had just moved from my chair to my blanket, so I could lay out and tan a little when it feels like someone threw a stone at my eye (which were closed, thankfully). Kids were playing nearby so I wouldn't have been surprised, but if it had been them, it was a VERY good shot. Anyway, I turn to my friend Eryn and say "please tell me I got hit with a stone." The minute she started giggling, I knew that wasn't the case. Yep.. a seagull had shit on my eye. Luckily, not IN my eye, but still... I have shit on my face. Not only on my eye, but running down my cheek and on my arm. The bastard had really let it loose. And let me tell you, it hit HARD! Like I said, it felt like a stone had hit me.. I was thoroughly grossed out and everyone is trying not to laugh, but it's a little difficult to do so. I obviously can't see so I'm reaching for a towel or anything and begging Eryn to get the shit off my face and finally i just ran into the ocean and dove through the waves to get it off. I couldn't feel my body for about 15 minutes afterwards (the ocean was FRIGID) but it was way better than trying to wipe it off my body. Apparently, a bird shitting on you is supposed to bring good luck. I should have bought Lotto tickets.

To add insult to injury, there are these two ridiculously tan, skinny girls in bikinis a few feet away from us. I went over to my friends and said "listen... what kind of world is this where the bird shits on me, but leaves the skinny bitches alone? I can't wear a bikini (or won't.. as most people that shouldn't have on this beach, felt the need to do it anyway) so the least the bird can do is shit on them and not me." Further proof that God might not be a woman :)

On my way to the beach for a girl's weekend with my friends from college... I'll take some pictures.. hopefully NOT of an extremely sunburnt me!

Shocking eliminations on SYTYCD: Kherington and Gev are out, with Comfort still hanging on. Kherington did struggle this week. She and Mark's two step was atrocious, but all in all I think she's a better dancer than Comfort. Still, you can't go wrong with a Comfort and Twitch hip-hop pairing. What a saving grace that was! As for Gev, I think it was just his time. He was respectable in all he did, it just wasn't enough with the guys that are left.

Project Runway came full circle with the supermarket elimination challenge, which saw Jerry be the first one out. I always love it (as in Big Brother) when the most confident person comes in and is the first one out. Speaking of which, I haven't watched the episode, but Brian DID get eliminated on Big Brother, a blatant case of too much, too soon! Anyway, Project Runway.. there are interesting characters on the show this season, but I was disappointed with all the fabric substitutes during this challenge. Tim Gunn even went so far as to say the Judges would probably call them slackers... and they were! I'm hoping they learned their lesson and it gets better.

Rumor (from the mouth of Jen's Alias co-star, Victor Garber) is that Jennifer Garner is expecting a second bundle of joy to go along with daughter Violet. Or she had a big lunch.. whatever.

Britney and K-Fed came to an agreement in their custody case, with K-Fed gaining sole custody but better visitation rights for Brit. Apparently now instead of $15K a month, he'll be getting close to $20K in child support. Seriously... how did he turn into father of the year? That's either one great attorney or an amazing publicist...

Enjoy your weekend.. I intend to enjoy mine...
I got a pedicure last night, for the first time in forever. I spent the whole night staring at my toes and smiling. It's the little things..

I wasn't able to stay up for the entire All Star Game, but I'm happy to say the American League won and George Sherrill (and pretty much every other pitcher in the ballpark) was able to throw an inning or two. The 15 inning game lasted well past midnight and secured home field advantage for the American League. I didn't watch much of it, but I did tune in when Papelbon was pitching, and this article now explains to me why the fans in an American League park were calling their own pitcher "overrated." Even for one night, the Yankee fans and Red Sox fans can't unite for a cause...

I know I "reported" on this last week, but now it's official. Michael J. Fox WILL be playing a foe of Tommy Gavin's on Rescue Me come Spring. I can't wait! Speaking of TV, rumor is that Amy Poehler will have a role in the Office spin-off that's supposed to debut after the 2009 Superbowl. No idea on what kind of role she'd take on, as NO information regarding the spin-off has been leaked anywhere!

It was only a matter of time before we saw this mug shot, but this bust was one I didn't really expect...

I bought a pair of Nine West sunglasses last Thursday when I went to the mall. I almost lost them last night. Under a week must be a new record. I swear, if I spend anything over $10 on a pair of sunglasses, it's a given that I'll lose them ASAP. I have a pair I'm wearing today that's like a bad penny. They just keep turning up no matter how often I try to lose them.

Speaking of resilience, check out this story!

OOH.. shit hit the fan last night on Big Brother! I wanted to tell Brian, you can't show your hand and try to play everyone against each other this early. It's too soon and people will figure it out, as they did last night and because of it, Brian's "ally," Jerry, put him up on the block. Granted, I'd rather see Renny go as she's almost as annoying as Amanda was last year, but Brian deserves it for thinking two days in that he was the puppet master. Still, anything can happen and we'll see if Brian can talk his way out of it. In order to put Brian up, Jessie won the POV competition, which consisted of wading through honey to put stuffed bears into jars. I can tell you right now, I NEVER want to wade through honey.. it just looked painful!

It's Wednesday.. you know what to do... and besides hump, it's TUNE INTO THE SEASON PREMIERE OF PROJECT RUNWAY TONIGHT!! I doubt I'll get to watch it, but I have it set to tape so I'll have to try to avoid any and all spoilers...

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

I guess I am kind of indifferent to this news. I was (am) not a fan of either of them, although I can't wait to see the dancers with new partners this week! However, I checked the web site and it looks like the tour is coming nowhere near Albany this year, which surprises me considering the HUGE crowd that was there last year. Maybe they'll be adding dates as the summer goes along.

Guess things aren't so funny behind closed doors.. Too bad he's married, or else she really COULD f*c$ Matt Damon!

My girl, Khloe Kardashian is the latest diva/socialite/celebutante to make it to the pokey! Apparently she's violated probation stemming from her DUI arrest (famously "reenacted" on Keeping Up with the Kardashians) and will report for a 30 day sentence on Friday. Let's take bets on how long she stays in.

I had yesterday off cause I was SUPPOSED to go to the boilermaker in Utica, but it was not meant to be. Believe me, it was for the best.. There's always next year. Anyway, I took the day off, went to the gym, the mall and then Tre and I took a walk down Warren Street. We could NOT resist the allure of Lick, so we stopped for an ice cream cone. We both got Roasted Cinnamon, which was beyond delicious. I'll be disappointed if they don't have it the next time I go. I mean.. I snubbed my fave, cookies and cream for this ice cream. It was THAT good!

The J knee saga continues, however he's now getting physical therapy which seems to be helping. He can move slightly faster than normal, so that's a step in the right direction. I went to his family reunion on Saturday which was an entertaining time. Hotter than hell, but still fun. I got to talk baseball with his cousins and hear some interesting stories when the family let the beer and liquor go to their heads. I felt like I handled it well, even when J disappeared for an hour and a half. Yeah... talk about things going over like a fart in church.. We then went back to his brother's to play rock band until my hand felt like it was going to fall off. The next day I played Guitar Hero for a while, then J showed me the Wii Fit. Apparently, I am as fit as a 46 year old and have no balance. That's so NOT good... It was fun though! I can hula hoop like a mo 'fo!

Big Brother started on Sunday night, with Jerry (the oldest contender) as the HOH. He put up Jessie (a 22 year old natural body builder) and Renny (second oldest and most annoying) so I hope she goes home. 45 minutes into the show I was sick of her.. Tonight is the Power of Veto competition.. Speaking of BB, it got cancelled in Australia, one of the first countries to broadcast the show. I have been lucky enough to see it while I was there, and that's what got me re-hooked onto our BB. I'm sad to see it go, but apparently they replaced the host and it went downhill from there.

All I can say about the Home Run Derby is "HOLY JOSH HAMILTON!!" Too bad he could only pull it off for one round, but what a round it was. I was just happy to see the finalists both be from the AL.. Now hopefully tonight they go out and kick some NL ass... Again...

Finally today, best of luck to my man Peyton. If you need any help convalescing, you know who to call... ;)

Friday, July 11, 2008

Biggest snubs of the day? In the NL, it's Jose Reyes of the Mets. A shortstop who is among the best base runners in the game and who hits .294 AVG/.355 OBP/.482 SLG while playing half his games in Shea deserves a nod. Hurdle was forced to pick a Washington National, and that's why Cristian Guzman took Reyes' rightful spot. In the AL, it's Brian Roberts of the Orioles. He's a slick-fielding middle infielder who gets on base and is on target for 60 doubles this season. That's an All-Star. In fact, Roberts and Ian Kinsler, who made the AL squad as a reserve, both deserved to start at second ahead of Dustin Pedroia.

I agree Dayn Perry.. I wholeheartedly agree...

No, Roberts didn't even come close to winning that final vote to get on the All Star team. It's not been a good week for the O's, that's for sure! And now we're playing the Red Sox.. Hope we can step it up!
Can this be a real picture? He just never seemed THAT tall to me.. Maybe Romo is actually standing a few feet behind him. I mean.. he looks like a behemoth!

I know I'm crazy late with things, but celebrity babies made their debut this week, with Sunday Rose Kidman Urban born (strangely enough) on Monday and Levi Alves McConaughey riding shirtless into his new life this week.... just like his daddy.

Michael J. Fox could join the cast of Rescue Me for a few episodes. Now if only Huey Lewis would sign on and it'd certainly be my dream come true! It's going to be a very long wait till next year, but at least there will be 22 episodes of fire fighter togetherness when the next season finally comes to light!

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have ended their PDA filled relationship but "they're still friends." Can't wait till those press junkets for He's Just Not That Into You start.. that'll be the real test. Honestly, they both seem like good people so I hope they either ARE friends or this is just a slight bump in the road.

Are you ready? Big Brother 10 opens it's doors on Sunday for it's usual summer tour, and the cast (presumably all strangers this time - BB is going back to their roots) list is all over the internet... and it looks like it could be an... entertaining summer.

Still no official word on J's MRI. He went for results on Wednesday but apparently the radiologist hadn't read it yet. So... supposedly today is the day. I'm not holding my breath at this point.
I know most people won't believe this considering my lacking of a biological clock and all, but there are times when I do want the whole "white picket fence, 2.5 kids" thing, more now than ever before, as I'm getting old and probably losing all my eggs. Then I go to the mall and a child throws a screaming hissy fit I can hear across the entire store and I reconsider.

Thanks Sandra -

Yeah.. Gerard Butler is in P.S. I Love You.. Sorry.. I killed A LOT of brain cells the other night and my thinking Clive Owen was Gerard Butler is a massive oversight.. Which is odd, cause usually I'm good on men with accents.. Then again.. they both have hair... hence, why I thought they were the same person! lol..
VOTE VOTE VOTE - No, not for the presidential election... for Brian Roberts to get the final roster slot on the AL All Star Team!! Come on.. the O's HAVE to have more than one representative and B-Rob should be there!

Fourth of July was a bust, although I did get to work on my guitar hero skills on medium. My hands are too damn small to do anything but the easy level! I also watched P.S. I Love You. It was a good movie.. I had tears in my eyes for the majority, but I liked the book better. Still, having Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Clive Owen and Harry Connick Jr. as love interests sure as hell didn't hurt.

I was a drunken mess on Saturday night, and I will admit it. I asked a girl I know if the guy she was with was her baby daddy... Yeah.. that was nice of me.. Luckily, she didn't get mad and neither did he, as he is NOT the baby daddy.. I didn't get out of bed on Sunday until approximately 2 p.m. J got me Wendy's and it took me at least an hour to choke it down and NOT want to puke... A shower helped and the rest of the day I just felt... groggy. Had a good time though!

My computer's crazy slow today, so this is about all I can come up with as far as posting goes. Hope you enjoyed your weekend and I'll try to hit you back with some entertaining info!

Oh yeah... congratulations to my friend Toine, who's wife is expecting a baby this coming November (better late than never to tell me, right Toine?) and a very Happy Birthday to my friend Shannon, who had twins and is turning 30 all in the same year. I'm sure if she was alive enough to celebrate, she would! (Actually, a few friends and I are taking her out for an adult dinner tonight, so if she can stay awake long enough, it'll be a great time!)

When J and I went to see Wanted, we saw the trailer for Pineapple Express. Now, I'm not a HUGE fan of "stoner comedies" but it looked pretty funny... Then, I found this out. How in the world could it get better? And oh yeah.. how did it escape me that there is a Huey Lewis and the News tribute album coming out?

The J knee saga continues: Yesterday he FINALLY went to the ortho who told him he couldn't diagnose him because "he was in too much pain." He then scheduled J for an MRI.... July 18th.. So another two weeks of him hobbling around in pain. Luckily (ok, not luckily, but you'll get the drift) his knee gave out on him at work today, so the nurse sent him up to a doctor she works for. Hopefully he'll be able to do something for him...

Wanted was a good flick. The stunts were a TAD outlandish (no one, unless they're bionic) would survive the catastrophes these people survived, and I'm pretty sure it's almost impossible to have two bullets collide, but if you look past that, it had an interesting premise and I really enjoyed it. However, this was OBVIOUSLY way before ANgelina Jolie got pregnant because she really looked emaciated. Halfway through I turned to J and said "good god, someone get her a burger!"

So rumor is that A-Rod and his wife have split (just three months after the birth of his second child) and he's been taking up with Madonna and her with Lenny Kravitz. No offense, but a man that looks like A-Rod can certainly get hotter and younger than Madonna. Although I'm sure she could show a man a thing or two. I mean.. she's crazy jacked and worth bajillions of dollars. As for his wife.. she could certainly do worse. I bet Lenny's body is even better than A-Rod's (not that it should be that important ;)...) Still.. it sucks when anyone's marriage goes under, so the best of luck to ALL of them!!!

Yesterday I wasn't feeling well. My throat had been sore for a few days and I had an awful headache. Well, I found out my friend Nikki had started off the same way and now has strep throat AND a sinus infection. So, I freaked out a little bit and called the doctor for a strep test. Well, I MEANT to call and see the doctor for them to give me a strep test. They just gave me a strep test (which came back negative of course). So, the nurses looked at me like I was crazy and I felt pretty stupid for doing it, but I get strep a lot and really easily and with the holiday weekend and all I just wanted to nip it in the bud. Seriously, if I have to go back there next week because I DO have strep, I'm gonna be peeved..

Enjoy your 4th of July weekend!!!!

What a douche... how about you take all that "hard earned" cash and buy your own damn tickets? And oh yeah.. stop pushing people around when you can't get your way!
The other day I was on my way to work and I heard the Three Doors Down song "It's Not My Time." Not a bad song, but not quite what I wanted to hear. I remember thinking in my head "Gee, if I were gonna hear Three Doors Down, I'd really like to hear "Let Me Go" instead." I flipped past one station on my favorites and it was on... and it had literally just started. Weird..

Rumors are rampant that Madonna and Guy Ritchie are getting divorced. I think it's sad, but he hasn't done any really good work since they got married so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

Angelina Jolie is nesting in a French hospital, awaiting the birth of her twins. I believe she was due in August, but to go a month early isn't even close to unheard of (says the twin who was born a month early).

I've hated my hair for the majority of my life. It's thin and does nothing and even when it's longer, it just lays there and not in a good way. I've tried every single product out there that threatens to volumize, and am still considering getting sucked into this informercial that I saw the other morning... I mean, there's a money back guarantee and everything!!! Anyway, my cousin Chrissy had an appointment with this girl she really likes, so I'm going to give her a shot. Guess we'll see what happens. Sometimes you just need a change and for someone as impatient as me, it's more often than most. Seriously though, she better be a miracle worker cause there have been about 10 days out of the last 30 where I've seriously considered pulling a Britney and shaving my head JUST long enough to be able to weave extensions through it. Yep.. it's that bad.

I still love Denise Richards. This week she went to her sister's house for a "white trash weekend" where she rode the dune buggy, fished and had to have a very uncomfortable talk with her 13 year old nephew when his friends brought over her edition of Playboy to peruse. I can't help it, there's something about her that makes me giggle... and that's in a good way!

Shoot.. I've just been perusing that Wen website (see informercial above), and now I'm totally sucked in again. It's taking every ounce of strength I have not to place an order right now.

J FINALLY has his orthopedic appointment tomorrow, so hopefully they make some decisions regarding his knee and what the best thing to do is. Tonight we're going to see Wanted, maybe at the late show since he doesn't have to work tomorrow. Apparently no one cares if I have to work! Oh well, I get to see a movie, what do I care? Friday night J's sister emailed me about going to the drive in and the first thing J says is "it's going to rain," so everyone decided not to go. Of course, it didn't rain. I'm not bitter (note the sarcasm). He promised we could go another time, so we'll see if it happens. I haven't been to the drive-in in YEARS and I really want to go! Plus, the movies were Wall*E and Get Smart. Neither movie is one I'm DYING to see, but I would like to see them, especially at the drive in!

Happy First Day of July!!
