Remember the good old days when you were SURPRISED that a celeb came out of the closet.. Hey Ricky... hate to break it to you... but we knew...

Now that we're already back in the 90's, I'm really looking forward to seeing Mayim Bialik woo Sheldon on Big Bang Theory... or vice versa!!

We all know how much I love So You Think You Can Dance, and while I'm wary, I'm still excited about the changes that are to come. I always love seeing some of my old faves make an appearance!

Last night I went to see Daughtry, Lifehouse and Cavo at the TU Center in Albany. AWESOME show.. I wasn't real interested in seeing Lifehouse or Cavo (got there at the end of Cavo's set.. no offense) but Lifehouse was really great live! There were some really great songs off their new album so I might have to check it out. As expected, Daughtry was amazing, and Chris was bald, just like I'd hoped (he'd been growing his hair out... glad he got over that phase). Obviously, you can see the Daughtry pics at the top of the blog.. it was being bitchy and wouldn't move my pictures so we'll just have to deal with it. There are worse ways to open it up, right?
Let's talk about Dancing with the Stars huh? I'm sad to say, I really hope Buzz Aldrin goes home this week. I mean, he tries real hard, but he's just not going to be at the level of the other competitors! I just hope he doesn't turn into this season's Cloris Leachman, that's all! My top pics - Evan Lysacek (even though I wish it were Johnny Weird instead), Nicole Scherzinger (duh.. like she was gonna suck), Chad Ochocinco (terrible name, but surprisingly more adept than I thought he'd be) and Erin Andrews (is there any partner Maks doesn't bang?). Kate Gosselin wasn't so hot, but I bet she has the fan base to stay another week, AND since she's with my boyfriend Tony Dovolani, I kinda don't want her to leave! Shannen Doherty did better than I expected as well, considering all she's talked about is her stage fright! Pam Anderson was a hot mess, and not because she can't dance, she just looked like she'd rolled out of bed (and after looking at her with her partner, she might have!) Earlier tonight they said it would have been a surprising elimination if someone were to go last week, so I guess I should vote! I don't really have an opinion on Brooke Burke. She's not great, but she's not Samantha Harris...
The Hills is ending, but don't worry... Heidi's an actress now ;) Good god I hope that means Heidi and Spencer's 15 minutes are up.. (Note to Heidi - making fun of yourself and your bazillion plastic surgeries does NOT mean you can act).

Well, good thing he never cared if anyone liked him in the first place, cause I'm thinking this won't win him any fan favorite awards (yes, I know the fan favorite is a Bravo thing, but you get my gist)...

As many of you know, I played rugby in college. It was one of the most fun and brutal times in my life and I wouldn't trade it for a second. I've dated my share of rugby players but nothing compared to the feeling of seeing my ex-boyfriend from Australia, lying motionless on the field in Worcester. I spent LOTS of time at the hospital that month or so, and thankfully, he's fine and back in Australia, although no longer able to play, as a swift kick to the head would be pretty damn detrimental. Anyway, this is an article that was in the Albany Times Union this morning and it made me weepy, yet long for the comraderie I shared (and still do share) with my rugby buddies. My best wishes go out to Michael Jones and his family, on their long road to a hopeful recovery..

If I wanted to know how many calories were in my Spicy Chicken, I'd ask.. FYI - I don't want to know.. ignorance is bliss....
I stopped watching Idol after the whole Chris Daughtry debacle (who I'm going to see on Sunday.. YAY), but I wish I'd tuned in last night, as a contestant sang "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News. I heard he got good reviews, but apparently SOMEONE doesn't have much respect for Huey... and that makes me want to clock a bitch :)

Gotta give Shell props for finding this little gem... Hope none of my posts are on there..
God, I miss Glee...

St. Patty's Day 2010

Shannon, drinking the lightest beer imaginable on the train.. A taste of things to come ;) Oh yes.. EVERYONE is Irish on St. Patty's Day!!!
SOME PEOPLE didn't think "Boozy McGee" was an appropriate shirt for me.. so they changed it..

Me, Tre and Jen at the Blarney Rock

Do I know him? No... Was he wearing a uniform? Yes.. Was that enough? Hell yeah it was ;)

As usual, we had an awesome time! My phone died early on in the day, we lost a camera down a sewer/subway grate (thankfully not mine), there was a little misunderstanding about the train we were coming home on, and everyone got home around the same time because the two that made the early train, missed the stop in Hudson. Our t-shirts were waiting for us on the doorstep when we got home. Way to go Zazzle.com! Now we have a whole year to figure out which shirts to get NEXT year AND we plan to get them in February so we don't have to recycle!

Holy Crap - My 1,000th Post

It's only appropriate that it revolves around baseball, don't you think!? However, all I have to say is that I'm RUSHING out of work to buy this....
This past weekend was the MAAC tournament at the Times Union Center, and much to my chagrin, I learned it’s the last year it’ll be there, at least for a while. Siena pulled it out on Sunday, although they played pretty crappy the first half. Granted, I’m not any college basketball expert, but when you’re 6’9, a guy half your size PROBABLY shouldn’t get a rebound over you. Just a guess.. Plus, I usually do well in my March Madness pool so for the sake of this blog, I’m as expert as you’re gonna get! Anyway, Siena made it to the finals, which took place on Monday against Fairfield. Fairfield came out guns blazing, and at one point were up by 15 points over Siena. During the first half all I could think was “what a waste of money!” The game was terrible!! Siena couldn’t buy a basket, and certainly not free throws! Thankfully, Siena is a second half team. They were down by 12 at the half but managed to tie it up and send the game into overtime. I don’t know what kind of half-time speeches Fran McCaffrey gives, but they must be doozies!!! Anyway, Siena blew Fairfield away in overtime, winning the MAAC title by a final score of 72-65. The second half and OT were incredibly exciting! I think my friend Danny spent the entire half laughing at me every time I jumped out of my seat. What can I say? I love college basketball, which means I’m going to have to start thinking about my brackets! Selection Sunday is this Sunday!!! Anyway, congratulations to Siena and good luck in the NCAA tournament, which they’ll hopefully get another bid. I’ll miss you MAAC tournament! It’s always a fun weekend, but I can’t see myself heading over to Springfield to partake. Convenience is key!

I went to my first REAL yoga class this weekend at the Sadhana Center for Yoga and Meditation in Hudson. The class was listed as “basic” from 9:30 – 11:00, which seemed like a really long time. To be honest, it FLEW by! The teacher, Donald, was an in-shape older gentleman, and he was very good, at least in my limited yoga experience. However, he tried to put my heels on the ground during downward facing dog and he was sorely disappointed. Perhaps after a few more classes! I’m not real down with the chanting part, and therefore could NOT look at my friend Lynn while it went on, but other than that, it was pretty good. There was a headstand portion that Lynn and I didn’t partake in. My headstand days are long gone.. I’m hoping to do it again soon, cause I certainly felt it the next day AND I was sweating throughout. He went pretty fast through the poses, but there were a few that you did often, so it wasn’t ALL that hard to figure out. I highly recommend the class if anyone’s interested!

Corey Haim died this morning of an accidental overdose. Considering he’s been plagued with substance abuse problems most of his life, I’m not all that surprised. I find it so sad when people can’t overcome their demons, and when you know Corey Feldman is going to use this as a publicity opportunity.

I bet you’re as shocked about this one as I was…

Let’s talk about the Oscars:
I’m ok with all the winners in all honesty. I didn’t see Avatar and I just thought a movie that wasn’t made with 8 tons of CGI should have won, so I’m glad it was The Hurt Locker, which I also haven’t seen. It was an amazing thing to have Katheryn Bigelow win Best Director and it’s always nice to rub that into your ex’s face, whether they’re on good terms or not! As expected, Sandra Bullock was adorable and gracious, as was Jeff Bridges. I thought Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were pretty capable, and who can turn down a musical number by Neil Patrick Harris!? I heard the dancing was good, but I didn’t catch that, or much of the show to be truthful. I was a little tipsy from the Siena game! Anyway, let’s just say the show was… status quo. Nothing crazy, except for that weird lady that pulled a Kanye during the presentation for Best Documentary Short. That guy sure can’t catch a break, huh!?

Free time has been at a minimum for me lately, so I’ll TRY to do a post about Oscar fashions, but I make no guarantees. I know, I disappoint you all so much!

Fur will surely fly tonight as Part One of the Real Housewives of the OC reunite to dish the dirt and sling some mud. Part Two will air tomorrow night. The NY Housewives are back and it’s now Jill v. Bethenny (Sorry, I’m on Team Bethenny for this one.. Jill’s being a TOUCH catty)! I’ve always loathed Ramona so her crazy antics aren’t much of a surprise, although I was a little shocked at the Countess during her shakedown with Bethenny.. Still on Team Bethenny, even if it’s only because she called LuAnn a dumb, drag queen.. unfortunately not to her face. It’s only the first week so I’m sure my alliances will change… except Ramona will always get on my nerves.. like Vicki… (Sorry Chris)

Happy Hump Day all… One week from today I’ll be sucking down beers in NYC.. Gotta love St. Patty’s Day!!!

Mealeo: Dangerous? or Genius?
An advertisement for this service was on my car when I got out of the Siena game last night, and I was intrigued by it. I'll let you know if I have the opportunity or feel the need to try it. If you've tried it (especially in the Albany area, but I'm curious about others) let me know! It seems like a great idea, as long as the restaurants are down with it.

This might not be the best indication of how funny she can be, but still an entertaining podcast by Maria Bamford... Try to see her if you can.. I know I will!

Speaking of funny ladies, I caught Kathy Griffin on this week's Law & Order: SVU. My sister said "I don't know if I can take her as a serious person." Thankfully, she wasn't too serious for too long, AND she was able to put a lip lock on Stabler... atta girl!!!

New Moon comes out on DVD soon.. :) More Jacob in Eclipse though..

Last night, Jim and Pam had their baby (a girl) and it was a pretty entertaining episode, including ALL the office mates.. Welcome Cecelia to the fold!!

The OC Housewives ended last night, while the NYC Housewives started some weeks of drama. I so love Bravo!

I remember watching this show, but I'll be damned if I remember Jeremy Renner being on it! Hell, I don't remember Angela from Bones being on it either.. Gotta love a career boost from reality tv!!!

The Oscars are on Sunday night and I can' t make any good guarantees. I'm going to the Siena Men's Basketball game on Sunday at 4, so not sure where the night will lead. If I'm home in time, there'll be red carpet fun for all!!! I didn't have a chance to see a lot of the nominated films, so I don't have any real favorites... Won't make me any less interested though!

Finally, May can't come soon enough..

Happy Friday.. pray my commute home is not as ulcer inducing as my ride to work... every moron in the world got in front of me driving 30 in a 55.. not cool...

Am I the only one in LOVE with "Be Good Johnny Weir" on the Sundance Channel? My inner gay thinks it's FAB!!!! I've literally seen two episodes (a few times.. I keep catching the same ones) but I adore it.. He's hysterical AND you can bounce a quarter off that ass.. not a bad combo!

If I were in the market for a roomie, I'd TOTALLY check out this apartment. Maybe I'm missing something by NEVER having logged onto craigslist.

True love or publicity stunt?

Apparently stupidity DOES run in families...

It's Monday.. the 1st of March.. I'm going grocery shopping AND to the gym tonight (Can everyone sing a chorus of "My Favorite Things?" Note the sarcasm..). Let the pain and bitchy blog posts about food and working out commence..
