Today's embarassing Ipod moment: After the Rain by Nelson. I can't help it, I love those early 90's platinum metal boys (ok.. maybe not so metal... but they looked the part), but they certainly should go onto my guilty pleasure playlist. Hmm.. I should actually make a guilty pleasure playlist. I'm sure my ipod is just overrun with songs only I want to hear on a regular basis..

Tre and I started the Insanity DVD's this morning.. It's not just a clever name.. the soreness I've felt all day will surely drive me to the brink of insanity. However, if I get as fit as I feel sore, I think I'll be pretty happy with the results. If not, me and beachbody.com are going to have a throwdown.. Well, we would if I were able to move my arms past my sides..

Sue and I have a hot date to see Fame tonight and I'm so excited!! I know, it's a little queer, but I love these kinds of movies and I remember the old school Fame. That, and I really liked Kherington Payne when she was on So You Think You Can Dance, which makes it a must see.. and a night for Sue to get out of the house for a few hours without Kapuki!!! And oh yeah.. POPCORN FOR DINNER!!!!!

Here's a little snippet to get you through the day. I can safely say I only saw one of these movies on purpose, and while I don't hate the movie, I loathe Diane Keaton, so you knew it couldn't turn out well...

I started the Kathy Griffin book: Official Book Club Selection. I'm only 50 pages in, but I've already found my favorite quote from it (for today):

To this day, the behavior of straight men is something I've never been able to wrap my head around. Have you ever met one? They're really weird. Sometimes they want to have sex without A Chorus Line playing in the background. Yuck. How is that even possible?

How can you not want to read this book?

The rumors have finally come true: Heather Locklear is joining the cast of Melrose Place to reprise her role as Amanda Woodward. It's not clear how long her appearances will last (she could be an "alive for only one episode" thing like Laura Leighton's Sydney) but I have a feeling she'll make an impression. I'm already looking forward to Josie Bissett's return as Jane next week!!!

Tim Gunn got all sorts of cranky this past week on Project Runway, thanks to the artfuly lying of ex-drug addict (and guy I find completely in the hunt for "Most Annoying PR Contestant" honors) Johnny. The assignment was to make an outfit out of newspaper. Johnny thought his was the bomb until Tim ripped him a new one. Johnny then proceeded to throw his dress away, then lying about the reasoning behind needing to make a new one. Nicholas completely threw him under the bus on the runway (which helped Nicholas out to no end) but I think everyone saw through Johnny, and Tim made his opinion abundantly clear, but not till after he was sweet as pie in letting Johnny go. Tim Gunn - he's a classy broad!

I watched the Emmy's, but I have to say this: I'm REALLY sick of 30 Rock... it's funny, I get it. But for God sakes, give someone else a chance!!! I mean, no nods for True Blood in the drama categories!? Please.. Jon Cryer winning for best comedic performance? um.. not so much! I did really enjoy it when Kristen Chenoweth won (and then subsequently needed medical treatment) and I thought she looked kinda sassy in her spangly minidress. The dresses didn't knock me out this year, although I thought Anna Torv (Fringe) looked absolutely breathtaking! Her dress wasn't like anyone else's and I like that. A lot of people didn't like Christina Applegate's dress, but I liked the color and thought it looked great on her! As for this, I don't care what he's wearing.. he's a sexy little beast..

Fox has ordered 13 more episodes of Glee!!!! If you haven't caught the show yet, please please please tune in! It's so worth it on so many levels!

Tre and I received our new Insanity DVD's in the mail today. We're going to start them on Monday and I really hope they do the job. If not, what a waste of money!? I'm not down with wasting money at this point in my life, so I'm gonna do all I can to make sure they do what they're supposed to! Speaking of weight loss, Kevin Federline has joined the cast for the next season of Celebrity Fit Club. Yeah, that might just be enough to get me to watch. He has certainly ballooned since his divorce from Britney and apparently he cares enough about how he looks to do something about it... or at least wait until he got a solid offer to care about it. That K-Fed.. what a head for business he has!

It's been quite a week for celebrity babies: Ellen Pompeo had a baby girl, as did Sarah Michele Gellar. Also (in the non-celebrity mode) congrats go out to my soccer teammate Shanan, as she gave birth to her first daughter, Payton, early this morning.. Great name ;) even if it is spelled wrong!

It may sound ridiculous (and even I agree) but Khloe Kardashian is getting married on Sunday to basketball player Lamar Odom. It's been one hell of a year for the Kardashians!

I hit up the new Wal-Mart in town last night for some shopping. It's nice, but I don't know where anything is so it took me a million times longer than usual and then I walked around the store and found random odds and ends that I needed, so I ended up spending more than I would have if I'd gone to a regular grocery store! I did get a really cool toilet paper holder that attaches to your tank so the TP isn't on the floor. I've said nothing but great things about it all day. As you get older I guess it really IS the little things, isn't it!?

Lots of tv to watch! Hope you all enjoyed your hump day... if i had one, that's what I'd be doing!! Screw TV!!! Have a great week!!!
How am I struggling to pay my bills when people are getting paid to study THIS? And probably boatloads of cash too... I missed my calling for sure..

What a long and busy week it's been! I won't go into details, but I'm happy to say I was busy for all the right reasons, if that's any consolation!

While she may not have done anything of substance during the game but make me laugh, Jordan came out with the win on Big Brother! I was pretty happy with the outcome considering the sounds of Natalie's voice makes me want to cringe, and if she won all the cash I'd probably have to see interviews with her and I'm rip my eyes out. No big deal. My friend Toine pointed out the awkwardness of the Jeff and Jordan reunion after her win, so I'm curious to see what, if anything, happens with the two of them. I'm also curious to see where Jeff pops up next, cause I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time we see his sexy ass on TV!

Let the Patrick Swayze tributes begin..

Choreographer and director Adam Shankman has been named as a permanent third judge on So You Think You Can Dance. When he first appeared on the show, he kind of got on my nerves, but he has since grown on me and I'm kind of looking forward to his insight. I doubt it'll be as colorful as Tyce D'Orio, but probably as direct.

This is a WHOLE lot of running!

And this is what you call "not wasting any time."

Housewives info: The disappointment has set in, cause there will REALLY be no Jeana Keough on the OC housewives, at least not for the whole season! Thankfully, we won't have to wait too long to see what happens, as the new season starts in November. In other Housewives news, Theresa (of NJ, table throwing fame) gave birth to her 4th girl this past week. Poor Joe! He's obviously glutton for punishment!

Considering rumors have been rampant for months, it's not much of a surprise to hear about the separation between Avril Lavigne and Derek Whibley. Sometimes those young celebrity weddings just don't work out for the best.

He got booted from the Eagles to make room for Michael Vick, but Hank Baskett (Mr. Kendra Wilkinson) was picked up by my very own faves, the Indianapolis Colts! I will think of him Monday night when I wear my jersey, drink beer, eat pizza and wings and cheer on my Peyton!!

Heading to Larkfest for a few hours tomorrow, but today I need to wish my little rugger Crystal a very happy 30th birthday, and my co-worker Ashley a happy 24th! I can't make it out to the Woo to celebrate with Crystal, but I think I managed to make Ashley's b'day a little more tolerable, since she had to be at work! Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!

First and foremost, RIP to Patrick Swayze! I was so upset when Chris texted to tell me. He will forever be remembered as Johnny Castle and for never putting baby in a corner. What a classic! Not that I needed it, but now I have some motivation to finally see Point Break and Road House. I know.. shoot me now as I've never seen either of them.. He was a classy, talented guy and I'm sad to see him go.

In old news, Ellen Degeneres is replacing Paula Abdul as the fourth judge on American Idol. I, for one, don't get it. I didn't think much of her judging stint on So You Think You Can Dance, besides the humor and entertainment value. She's supposed to be the "real person" perspective. Um.. isn't that what THE AUDIENCE is for?

Katherine Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley will be adopting a child from Korea in the very near future.

Tonight is the two hour finale of Big Brother and all I can ask is for Natalie to NOT win! Her fate lies in the hands of Kevin and Jordan, who are playing against each other to win the final HOH. Jordan killed Natalie in their competition, much to Natalie's shock and dismay which was just so damn sweet. Hopefully if Kevin wins he brings Jordan to the final two with him.

The models were in charge this past week on Project Runway, which proved insanely detrimental to many of the guys, even though it was Qristal that was sent packing. It made sense, considering she dodged a bullet last week thanks to Mitchell's complete inadequacy. Hell, I could have sent a nightgown down the runway better than him!

The True Blood finale went down on Sunday night and while I was at first a little disappointed, the show ended with one hell of a cliffhanger. Who took Bill?! If you read the books like I did you might think you know, but considering I had no clue what the f was going on all season, I'm thinking I'm probably way off! June or so is WAY too long to wait for the next season HBO! However, so far I'm not impressed with Evan Rachel Wood as the Queen of Louisiana.. My friends who watch said I wouldn't be, but I didn't believe them. They were right..

If only I had the money and the wherewithall to renovate.. Maybe Jeff Lewis could help!

Rumor has it, she's moving to a town outside Utica.. freaky..

Maybe you haven't heard, but Kanye's a douche...

Sometimes you have to give the Devil his due...

My first passion party somehow canceled at the last minute (if canceling means "never returned my phone calls last week) so I'm a little bummed cause I had counted on that little bit of money coming in and I really wanted to get my jitters out! Now I have nothing booked.. I have plenty of people saying they'll book, but nothing solid yet. I should have found something less stressful!

Today is my god daughter Courtney's birthday AND my parent's anniversary. For some reason I can never remember how long they've been married, but my dad said it was 32 years. To which I replied "Tre and I are not bastard children..." So yeah.. I'm still not sure... I just know it's 33 or more years which is insane. Half the time I don't want to do anything for 33 minutes let alone 33 years!

I'm having a pity party kind of week. I have a wedding in October that I"m very excited about. Just got an adorable new dress for it as a matter of fact! Anyway, I then find out that the people I will more than likely be sitting with (and the only ones I will know) are all coupled up. Talk about depressing.. I have the option of bringing a date, but since it's not local, I would kind of rather go by myself.. I just don't watn to be the pathetic token girl with no date. Sometimes being single REALLY sucks.. Then, last night a great friend to our family died, which is pretty upsetting. She was the sweetest woman ever and had a great impact on my dad's life and I will miss her very much!! At least now Nanny can join Peep after all these years!!!

Ok.. time for me to pay attention to Big Brother! Hope you all have a great hump day!!!

Perhaps these d-bags have no idea the importance of Cal Ripken to Baltimore, but I think they do now...

I just had my picture taken next to it with me Dad for God's sake!!!!

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Well, this should make for an interesting season on Dancing With the Stars, don't you think? I almost felt bad, but then I remembered how annoying I find Karina and I got over it.

This past weekend was the Chatham Fair, where I drank lots of beer and didn't eat enough fair food (although I did get the corn dog and gravy fries I craved). I have no pictures (my NEW camera has decided that turning on is not in its repertoire after it's trip to Baltimore), however I did manage to snag the 2009 Bull-Off Championship. Ok, so it's really nothing but a competition between friends, but I do now have bragging rights and what more do you need than that?!

Apparently when you get cast on True Blood you also get a significant other. I didn't care so much when it was Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, but Alexander Skaarsgard? Oh no she didn't! I don't even like blondes (unless they shave it all off) but he's drop dead sexy..

Considering the majority of America has some sort of credit card debt, maybe this is something we all should try to catch!

As expected, Jeff was evicted from the Big Brother house and much to my chagrin, Natalie won HOH by (in her own words) sticking to her word, which I find hysterical, since she's lied about her age the entire time she's been in the house. She put up Kevin (kind of as a pawn, but at this point, who knows?) and Michele, leading Jordan to believe she's safe. She just might be, if she wins the POV tonight, plus, she's probably safe anyway as Michele SEEMS to be the target, but you never know at this point in the game. Things get a little... blurry!

Project Runway was a massive clusterfuck in so many ways this week. It was time for a team challenge, so everyone paired up. All Epperson and Qristyl did was bitch at each other, on and off the runway and were subsequently in the bottom. Mitchell and Ra'Mon were the winners, however, for the first time in history, a winner got eliminated, as the judges couldn't get over the fact that Mitchell had no qualms about admitting that he did basically nothing during the challenge. Um, he didn't do anything ALL season and we're shocked he shirked his duties on this challenge? Yeah.. shocking!

90210 has started and it's been a pretty decent episode. I can only imagine what shenanigans they'll get up to on Melrose if there's so much drama on 90210! I feel like I'm 15 again... except now I'm pretty sure the clothes are better! America's Next Top Model (the short girl edition) and So You Think You Can Dance (first fall edition) both start tomorrow. Apparently I'm getting my very own DVR in my room, which has made me very happy, but my sister is elated! She kinda hates the shows I watch.. Plus, this gives us more space to tape even MORE crappy TV!

Cruise Meltdown has begun! My sister and I are going on a cruise in February adn we both want to lose some weight and get into bathing suit shape before then. We went for a run after work, in which, I wanted to die. We've barely ran since the boilermaker and it shows. Last week (our first run back) we did really really well and felt great afterwards. It hasn't been that way since. I guess that's motivation enough for you to not take a break, cause it makes it that much harder getting back into it!

Hope everyone enjoys this short work week!!!

I found this appropriate since yes, I DO start bowling tomorrow... I might have to do some research as I think I know MAYBE three of these songs! I should be ashamed..

Ah, the sadness... But at least I still have Jeremy Piven, who recently won his court case regarding his mercury poisoning while performing in "Speed the Plow" on Broadway. Take that Shellfish!!!

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....

Sandra sent me a really foul birthday card, but she made up for it by emailing me this:

I don't have a clue who's body she superimposed my head on to, and I don't care. My legs look FABULOUS! Happy birthday to me! Too bad I've been trying to swear off Jason's... Perhaps I should rethink that...

In the last few weeks, Lydia and Russell have joined Jessie in the jury house on Big Brother, leaving Jeff and the coat tail crew (Kevin, Natalie, Jordan and Michele) behind. Barring an act of God, Jeff should get the boot tonight instead of Jordan, so all I can really do is cheer for Michele or Kevin, as Natalie hasn't won a damn thing and been a whiny brat, where Jordan just followed Jeff along!

Project Runway has only just begun, but the "offbeats" have already gone home. Ari's futuristic silver outfit somehow got the boot, even though Mitchell sent a model down the runway with basically nothing on but a collar and a sheer nightgown. Mitchell once again evaded elimination last week when Malvin's existential "mother hen" look didn't get much interest from the judges. We'll see tonight if Mitchell finally puts together an outfit someone would consider wearing somewhere outside their own home! I don't really have any favorites as of yet, however I'm a little appalled that I'm enjoying the Models of the Runway show that Lifetime has put on after the show. We get to see what the models think of their designers and how the model pairing goes down until someone gets booted.

New shows start next week and I can't wait! Last night So You Think You Can Dance ran their "top 15 performances" show, which was a little predictable, but fun anyway. It was a nice lead in to their first fall season starting next week. If anyone knows a way to get the first season of SYTYCD (either on line or on DVD), please let me know! I only started tuning in during the second season, as I was without a DVR.. ah, the olden days!

I got my starter kit for Passion Parties last night and while I didn't have time to go through the whole thing, I'm a little.. flummoxed by all the work I need to do and things I need to get! This was supposed to be the job I get cause I don't have time for a real one! Oh well.. it'll work itself out, I'm sure!! I'm excited.. just a little overwhelmed, is all!

Anyway, time for me to get back to work! It's almost the holiday weekend.. enjoy it!

The view from the suite (yes, I said SUITE) at Camden Yards... There is NO better place to watch a game! This might be as close as I get to Cal!!!
Nikki and I late night after the track.. it was a LONG day o'boozing!!!

Jen and I.. BEFORE the losing commenced!!

Elkie (it was his RV) and all the girls...

What a whirlwind the last few weeks have been! I will post pics later on tonight, but for now, I'll just recap:

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND: Great time had with the girls, but also a fun time at the co-ed softball tournament. As much as we wanted to lose to free up our weekend, our competitiveness wouldn't allow us, and we came out of the losers bracket to take second place. It was ridiculously hot, tiring and sweaty, but it was still a great time. I got a new digital camera from my parents and FINALLY, after years of empty promises (you know who you are), my sister got me a Peyton Manning jersey! I can't wait to wear it!!

TEAM TRACK DAY: It was an early morning and long ride in Elkie's RV, but wow.. did we have a great time! I spent the entire weekend rolling coin just so I could place some bets, but it didn't matter. Nothing jumped out at me and I'm pretty sure I stopped betting in the 4th or 5th race. Better to not lose any money, right!? We all got way drunker than anticipated and danced our faces off both in the RV on the way home AND at Jackson's afterwards. I don't know if I ever want to go to the track NOT in an RV.. the weather held out and everyone had a blast!

BALTIMORE: FINALLY made it to Baltimore, even though it was a whirlwind 24 hour trip. My dad and uncle have met the concierge before, so we went up to see her and say hello. Both days she managed to get us into a corporate suite. The only way it could have been better was if Cal was sitting in the suite at the time. The O's only won one out of the two games, but it was an awesome trip!

This weekend is the Chatham Fair, so be prepared for some pictures of me trying to get onto the mechanical bull. I'm too short so Tre usually has to boost me up! There'll be corn dogs, gravy fries and fried dough aplenty!!!!

I've decided to take on a new venture, which is selling "Passion Products." Yes.. I'm peddling sex toys! But seriously, there's a lot more than that involved and I'm excited to say that I have my first party next Saturday. I'm not all about the public speaking so I'm insanely nervous, but I think once I get used to it, it'll be fun! Unfortunately, no one's been BEGGING me to let them have a party and I don't want to push anyone. I'm just not like that.. it's another reason I can't stand salespeople at the mall! However, I'm doing this to make some money so I might have to put on a LITTLE pressure! If you know of anyone who would be interested in having a party, feel free to have them get in touch with me. Even if you don't buy anything there's no doubt you'll be entertained and you'll get to help me out, which I thank you for in advance!

Macy's and I are going through a little rough patch in our relationship. Two weeks ago I paid $50 online... so I thought. A few days later when I had a return charge on my account I realized that instead of the $50 I thought I paid, I put through a payment of $5,000. Now, do I have $5,000!? No, and I honestly don't think I ever have! After countless phone calls and one annoying conversation with Mitra, the non-English speaking customer service representative, I was told to make another payment and that Macy's would reverse the charges out of "courtesy." Yeah... this was after Mitra said "I'm sorry you made a mistake, but...." Let's just say she had to speak to her supervisor after this conversation! Next stop was the bank, where I had to call an ex (who I am thankfully on great terms with) and explain the situation. He laughed at me, then gave me the number of the guy at the bank who could help me out. He was ridiculously nice and totally understood the situation, so he reversed the charge for me. Three days later... new charge, as they tried AGAIN to take my money out. Um.. HELLO!? Not gonna work! So this time I called the checking place and they agreed to not do that anymore, and then I had to call the bank again and have him reverse the charges. That was NOT a good week for me!

So this is what has been taking me away from my blog, as well as softball, which is now over. Cruise meltdown starts on Tuesday, so I'll be hitting the gym and running a lot more too. I'm going to try to continue to keep up with the blog, but it may get thrown by the way side from time to time. Work with me!

Pictures and TV information to come later.. Lots has happened on Big Brother and I haven't even had a chance to welcome Tim Gunn back to the airwaves. Happy Hump Day!!!!
